Hello. I have a new Overland and I wanted some more aggressive tires but wasn't interested in a lift at the moment. It seems the best idea at the moment is to buy some Rubicon tires and put them on. My question is if I do put the Rubicon tires on my Overland, will I still get 17-22 MPG or will that number go down? Also, are there any cons or any other things I need to be wary of by putting on that tire/rim combo? Thanks in advance!

I can't tell a noticeable difference in performance or MPG going from the 255/70/18 all season to my 275/70/18 All Terrains. With the 18" wheels, they are about .5" taller than the Rubicon A/Ts.

What brand tire did you go with?

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3. I've had good luck with their previous generation of tires (Revo and Revo2). They have an aggressive look, great street manners, and have performed well for me off the pavement (for an A/T). Also, even in my E Load spec, they are one of the lighter tire options at 50 lbs. Probably why I haven't noticed much of a drop off in performance or MPG.

I run Rubicon take-off tires and wheels on my Overland in our bad weather (roughly October through early April - but this year got lazy and left the Rubicon tires on until today)
Anyway, my MPG did not change. Saturday I filled up in a small town south of where we live. I got home and was at 25.3 mpg with 26 miles on that tank. I've driven it to an ENT appointment Monday AM through town and commute traffic, then back home and it was something like 23 (I took a pic) and today took it over to the dealer, another half hour drive through town, and it's sitting at 22.5 mpg with about 125 miles on that tank. I've been running 19-21 routinely, depending. Interstate driving kills MPG anyway so I get about 19, but not on the Interstate, on the county highways, our backroads around home with the hills and all, I typically do over 20 WITH the Rubicon tires on it. Granted, I run the PSI a tad higher than some - about 38-40 on the Rubicon tires just because I was too lazy to let some air out and never figured I"d have them on this long. You may see a bit of a drop due to the weight and rolling resistance and width but if there is a drop, it's pretty small - in the tenths of MPG
