I am trying to decide on tires for my JT. Looking to go with a 315/70r17.

Does anyone have any experience with either the BFG K02’s or Milestar Patagonia MT’s? Which one would you choose and why?

If you have any pictures you can post too, that would be an added bonus!

TIA!

I have the 315/70r17 ko2's now. I am looking at changing them to the Patagonia's. But only changing because I want BIGGER. I havent driven on the milestar's yet, but I dont expect them to behave as well as the ko2's have on the roads. But on the rocks they should excell which is what I am going after. I have several pictures of my rig with the ko2's. Check my vehichle showcase & basically all the pictures have them. And if you really want I am just one state over I will give ya a good deal on my ko2's with just about 2000 miles on them.

I have experience with 35x12.5/17 KO2’s. Great long lasting tires. 5 tire rotations netted me over 65k miles and could’ve reached 80k if I kept them. Quiet unless driving slow, and echoing from the center divider at 30mph or less.

315 Pats. I took these off my JK before trading it in. They seem to be a lot louder on the Gladiator.
I think they are a little softer compound than the BFG, so I doubt they will last as long. They ride smooth and balanced well.

I have the Patagonia's in a 38"x13.5r17. I have about 5,000 miles on mine and they are quiet on the road and handle okay. The problem that I have with the Patagonia is their requirement to be run at OEM PSI for best overall wear. I had been running mine at 35 PSI, but this has resulted in poor handling, as the tires tend to store energy and bounce over uneven terrain - both on surface streets and on the freeways making for some unsafe handling.

On the trail, they handle well, but according to a recent video on JL Life YouTube, the lower the tire tread becomes, the less they perform on the trail. They will continue to remain quiet on the street, but they do tend to chip. I have seen chipped Patagonias and they must be impossible to balance with lugs completely removed, but mine have very little chipping from the mild runs I have been on.

Keep in mind, the Patagonia is a 'CROWN' tire, negating the conventions of 'BOYLE'S LAW' and the 'Chalk Test'. It must be ran at OEM tire pressures or the result is the ubiquitous 'LUG CHOP' which tends to afflict this tire due to its soft tread composition.

I ended up with the BFG KO2’s. Next up a 2” leveling kit in the front. A big shoutout to @DiscountTire. Here are some pictures....

Yes, that’s the mopar satin grill. Road noise is very minimal. Love the ride and look!

I meant your wheels not tires.
Whoops. I misread your question.

They are 17X9’s with a 0 offset. The lug nuts should have also been black, but the tire shop didn’t order the right size. So the black lug nuts will be installed next week when they arrive.

I have run both on my Gladiator and which one I would pick would totally depend on how I planned to use the truck. For me the Patagonia works better.
