I always hear that BFGs don't even measure the size they are sold as. And today i measured some BFG ko2 37s. They were only 35 inches tall. Question is would there be any need to treat them like actual 37s as far as a regear goes? As far as i can tell the 4.10 gearing on the Mojave should be able to run a true 35 just fine so if get what i wanted in the BFG ko2s any reason why their 37 would be a problem? Also are you guys setting your computer for the actual size of the tire or what they are marketed as?
Thanks

My Speedo seems to be the most accurate when I set tire diameter at roughly 35.5" for my D rated 37" KO2s and I run them at 40psi.

I've been holding off on a regear because I can't decide between 4.10s or 4.56s.
The factory falkens are 33s and roughly 4" shorter than than the KO2s. So that's 2 tire sizes which of you believe in going up a gear per tire size would put me at 4.56s. Another thing to note is that the Rubicon gives up 1mpg to the Overland and Sport models. Now is that 1 mpg because of extra weight or taller tires? If taller tires then it says to me the optimal factory ratio is maxed out on the Overland's 32" tires and maybe they should've had 11s for the Rubicon which would means 56s would make more sense than 11s in that they would be closer to optimal RPM range even with the shorter 37" KO2s.

I have 37 bfg’s on my Mojave with 4.10. I live in south ga where it’s pretty flat so I see 8th frequently. Mine measures 35.5 and that is how I programmed the tazer. Speedometer is right on the money.

So currently you are running the BFG "37s" on stock gearing ? Whats it like currently driving it as is?

Sounds like what i want to do. Did you add a lift or anything? Also wondering if you feel a big loss in performance and MPGs compared to the 33s.

Yes. A tuned diesel has plenty of power but at the same time you can feel the strain on the drivetrain from being under geared and my light-footed MPGs suffer horribly (IMO.) 19 is my hand calculated best tank.

I rented a gas JLU Rubicon with 35" KO2s and was surprised that power was not as bad as many complain about and had very decent gas mileage (20mpg over about 1400mi.) and spent plenty of time in 8th gear on the highway.

My 33" KO2's measure approx. 32.8" (of course no need to reprogram as stock size on my Mojave).

Speedo is dead-on.

2in aev kit. Only time I notice performance is on hills(oem 33 m/t were heavier than bfg). Didn’t have 33’s on but about 1/4 tank.
Average 16.5 in town. Longer trips it stays around 19
