Thanks in advance for any insight.

I’m getting an error reading for the Rear ParkSense System. I just replaced the factory plastic bumper with an aftermarket variety, harvesting the wiring harness (with the parking sensors) and transferred it to the new bumper. When I shift to Reverse, I get the following error reading:

PARKSENSE UNAVAILABLE WIPE REAR SENSORS

I did. They are clean and clear. All were put back (sequenced 1-4, left to right) where they came from. No luck so far.

I’m wondering if a computer reset is needed. Or, if I have a different problem.

FYI. The wiring harness also includes connectors for the license plate lights. They are working properly. So, I’m getting Power through the wiring.

Did you ever figure this out? Also, what bumper did you go with?

I did not. I took it a second time to the dealer. They "fixed" it by turning the center sensors 90 degrees so they wouldn't throw off error readings. They wouldn't throw off ANY readings so they were "false negatives," worse than having the system shut off. Dealer blames the bumper but the connectors are Jeep OEM. Frustrating.

Bumper is manufactured by Rusty's. American made, very tough. I accidentally bumped into a pole anchored in concrete. Sent a shudder though the Jeep but no damage. It did it's job!

I have a rugged ride HD rear bumper. I installed it today and am getting the same error. I never disconnected at the sensors. I took the whole harness out and installed sensors before installing the bumper. So, they rotated the sensors and it fixed it? I want to be clear before I try this. I may have to pull the bumper to do it. It will be a bitch. I will if I have to.

Had the same problem and was told I could have the steel bumper and turn off the sensors or have the sensors with the stock bumper. They thought the steel might be causing the problem. I returned the steel bumper figuring that eventually someone will solve the problem.

I have not an issue with my LOD bumper and sensors.
