I have been doing a ton of trail wheeling in my (black) JT and now it looks like it has a pinstripe suit on it do to thorn bushes and ect on tight trails. None are deep scratches yet but most likely they will come. My question is, is there a way to stop it other than don't go out and wheel. I want to line x or bed spray the whole truck but the cost I got for that starts at about 8grand and up. I saw another post about someone using a product called lizard skin on the inside floors and it looked great. Would that be an option or maybe getting it wrapped? My friend said all I would do is just tear the wrap off. Any help or advice would be awesome. Thanks everyone.

Although they were good idea for JK and older, I'm pretty sure that the JT doors (and JL doors) are aluminum, and magnets wont stick to them.

Below are the closest I could find... But they appear to be like "window cling" type of sticky material, and not magnets.
Too bad.. I liked the magnet ones better.

1) It's a Jeep that goes offroad - I've learned to accept it. Out of the damage you can get offroad, this is the least of my worries

2) Wax the hell out of it to start. It's then easier to buff out if you want.

Best way to stop that from happening is a self healing PPF, paint protection film. Pricey, probably 6k to wrap a truck our size. Its clear or matte finished and usually comes with a 10 year warranty. Wax really wont stop it from happening, but as mentioned its to be expected on a Jeep that sees off pavement activity.

There is also a 3M scotchguard film that you could use- call some shops in your area that do car wraps.

@pacific_gladiator is correct, our body panels are aluminum and magnets will not stick to them like previous gen Jeeps. You'll have to get the ones from Mek like he linked or another 1 that is essentially window cling material.

The only real advice I've seen about these is: Lay it from 1 corner to another, almost roll it on. Do not get it on and try to shift it too much. If you have any type of contaminants between the truck surface and the cling it can scratch your truck anyways.

Seriously, if u line-x, u will add several hundred lbs of 2 part hard rubber epoxy. It WILL protect, but then you'll start complaining about it being sluggish. I worked for line-x prepping truck beds, the stuff is great, but not worth spending that much unless ur gonna be that hard-core. A cheaper, less weight option, and similar, would be raptor liner, or equivalent. Im personally contemplating some sort of wrap like mentioned above, or plasti-dip. Both of which can be removed/redone when necessary.
