Since they deleted Gobi paint for 2021 I have to choose between diesel and Gobi and it looks like Gobi will win but before I commit I thought I'd check with you guys to see what I'll miss from 2021 besides diesel.

but you can try to get it done with the TSB unless they just eventually make it a recall.
Good luck with the TSB seems to be pretty hit or miss getting dealership to do the fix.

Ah I could make the purchase contingent on my dealership doing the fix. Anybody tried that?

Yes i have seen people do that.
I think more people are able to get it done than those who cant. Those who cant seem to be able to get JeepCares to help them out.

I wouldnt let that weigh my decision.

That would be the best thing have them make sure to upgrade the steering box if its the old one in the JT you are looking to buy

There are also some things that are dependent on options and build date; earlier build dates have issues with the Mopar and other brake controllers, if equipped with ACC earlier builds are missing the auto-dim high beam ability.

Also note that the steering slop problem isn't apparent on every MY2020. Which trim level are you considering? Build date? Do you have a window sticker?

Full time 4 wheel drive option, and limited slip diff.
LSD was available on all 2020 trims except Rubicon and Mojave, which for obvious reasons they don't need.

Is this a safety issue?

Its a Mojave and I do have the window sticker. How can I find the build date and then figure out if it has the new steering box?

The earlier builds will throw warning lights and disable systems until restarted if the manual brake button is pushed with no foot on the brakes.

The build date is on the sticker on the drivers door opening, it is the silver looking sticker with the VIN, etc. Below is an example.

Any idea about what date that seemed to get fixed?
The star publication stated that builds in 2019 were affected and 2020 builds should be okay, there is another thread on this issue if you would like more information. The star document is also in that thread. My opinion would bet to look for a build from mid 2020.
