The only way to find total engine run time and mileage is through the vehicle computer using a scanner, as far as I know. When I was a tech for Jeep the only time we accessed that information was if there was question on a trade in or an insurance claim and never for routine maintenance

This will probably have to be done using an OBD dongle + app on a phone.

I've been trying to find a PID that works via an OBD app on my phone, but seemingly haven't found anything that actually works.

Supposedly, this should work, but it doesn't display any data for me:
"Engine: Total Time","Total Time","017F","(B*(256^3)+C*(256^2)+D*256+E)/3600",0,500,"Hours","Auto"

Hi everyone, I have been around CJs and JKs, but I am new to the JL/JT World. I have a small CJ business and have concerns about Jeep looking for ways to not honor their extended servcie contracts. On the Jks, it is simple to view the engine hours. I would document total engine hours at every oil change. I just assumed I should do this with JT since it is mentioned in the maintenance section of the owners manual. Thanks for everyones input. George

I'm curious in the data, just because I'm curious... but the manual does say "The 350 hours of engine run or idle time is generally only a concern for fleet customers."

I'm pretty sure the oil life is a combination of driving conditions including that 10,000 miles or 350 hrs. hell in another thread a forum member named 'The Office' idled so much he deduced that every 8 hrs of idle you loose 4% of your oil life. That would prove that the 350 hrs engine run time is definitely being utilized for the Oil life indicator. Basically change the oil when you want to but If you are worried about going over 350 hrs don't be, the jeep will let you know.

I had a look through the drivers info system today for the hour meter.
I was sure I saw it there at delivery, 6 hours roughly.
It was on my Ram 1500 diesel so I have to believe it is there also on the Jeep.
I’m going to look again.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I do believe that is current trip time and not total engine time From day one when the gladiator was new.
