These are the things I've messed with so far and I keep a note on my phone with the required tools:

• Antenna: 3/8 wrench
• License Plate: 10mm socket
• Lug Nut: 22mm six-sided deep well socket
• Oil Filter Housing Nut: 24mm socket
• Oil Drain Plug: 13mm socket
• Rubicon Rock Rails: 10mm deep well socket, 10mm wrench, 13mm socket

Well,? depending on where and what you plan to do will dictate what you need to carry. Grocery store warrants only what comes with the JT and the phone # for the local dealer. If you are going to do off roading, the list grows. You may even need a welder and a generator. what goes in my JT depends on who I go with (Other Jeepers) and how long I'm gone for and where & what trail. I'm now working on a spare parts list, U-joints, fluids, belts, etc. There are some great jeep videos on YouTube that talk about what to bring. Just start, and it will come to you. Something is usually better than nothing.

I've gone a little further and added an compact impact to my toolkit, usually won't need it on the road but it sure comes in handy wherever i end up for other odds jobs (most recent was a family brake job/tire changing).

Standard load (minimum):

• Metric compact 3/8 set
• odd socket goodies (bendy extension for "headlamp" adjustment)
• 12 crescent (other pliers and a cheap electronics tester)
• SAE/Metric allen wrench set (including some individual wrenches for bed side bike chocks/straps/carrier)
• 24mm Oil change socket is a recent addition
• Tire Plug Kit
• Slime Pump
• NOCO
• Big Strap
• 2x Soft Shackles
• siphon
• Medical Book and mini med kit.
• throw down mat/carpet
• small bottle of goo gone
• (complete with a chunky 4x4 with bolts for onboard jack)

Adventure load (stuff for when the truck takes a dirt nap):

• 1/2 M18 (500lb torque) (add gloves and ear plugs)
• 15mm-22mm deep impact sockets (leave the 20mm behind)
• several extensions
• breaker bar
• extended 1/2 socket wrench
• combo SAE/Metric wrench set
• Full size steel spare
• high speed pump
• additional tow strap
• winch recovery kit
• survival stuff - i have a saw/machete that has seen some use, but flashlight, glowstick,etc
• oil (learned from dual sports bikes, so i can be caught with jbweld, extra hoses, etc)
• larger med kit
• GMRS/NOAA hand radio
• (incomplete on the offroad jack, not really looking to add weight)

Spray paint the top of everything with the ugliest yellow spray streak, hopefully too gross enough for the five finger discount. (and now everyone on the planet knows those are my tools )

4x4 and the high speed pump can go in the bed, everything else must fit in cab or gets left behind.

hitch rack
boot dryer/warmer
compact 12v lithium battery
mounts for ipad/phone

It doesnt look like anyone has the comprehensive nut and bolt inventory you desire to build a custom 'only possibly needed' toolset.

I carry this one and it has not let me down.

Quite a complete tool kit, on the yellow color painted tools that was the same color my cousin used, I had used orange on a set I had year's ago. My father used blue and green depending on the tool set.

I know I need to recheck the tools / gear in my JT. I ran mine across a scale to get axle weight and total weight of it....? Now I only have 600 lbs. of cargo capacity from GVWR after the topper was installed.

I’m looking for a pre-loaded roll up tool bag. There are a few out there. Anyone have something they would recommend? If it costs a little more than putting one together myself, I’m ok with that.

I like the looks of that kit.. It just needs a canvas roll bag instead of the plastic case.
