Has anyone tried this top? It reminds me of the old bikini top on my CJ's. You need to purchase the windshield channel to use it. Looking for someone that has used it to give honest opinions of it.

I wish they'd offer this one with a cheap version of the door surrounds. Maybe a single piece.

This product basically serves the same purpose as the soft top with the back window removed... kind of a super niche market.

I bought one about a month or so ago. I have a JTop sun screen and wanted a bikini top to carry in case of rain. The Bestop works great for me because it can be mounted over the JTop without removing or adjusting it. I also bought a bag designed to hold soft top windows to carry the bikini top strapped to the rear posts. One rain so far and while it doesn’t cover like a full top, it keeps water from seeping through the sun screen mesh and onto your head. Hope this helps.

Is the bestop bikini top black twill material? In other words, will it match the same twill material they use for the bed cover that can be chosen as twill material? I would buy both of them right now if I knew that they matched each other and had twill.

The bikini is also a great fit. Even over the JTop.

For an answer to your question, bikinis can definitely help in the rain. It won't keep you dry but it will reduce how wet you get. However, these aren't really ideal to just throw on quickly in an "in-case" event. But I would still encourage trying one out - its a great way to drive around with open air, the Jeep feeling, and not bake in the sun.

Bikinis are always going to flap more than a standard soft top just due to its simplicity.

Thanks Lee, I realize & accept Bikini Tops have less structure and going to have more flap than standard soft tops. My concern is I have read some bikini tops flap so badly they come undone, and the few products out there for the Gladiators have very few customer ratings/reviews. I don't want a standard soft top, as I only want the roof over the 4 passengers, and dont want rear window, or the bulk of material in rear from an opened soft top.

Im new to Jeep, live in FL where the sun is brutal, and Im looking for a solid vinyl top to block sun and rain to replace my hardtop & freedom panels and go doors-off most of the long summers, and since its FL we can expect a daily random rain shower pop up and want to avoid a total bath if caught in one while out & about.

Im looking at the following:

Totally understand you there Mike and thanks for the clarification. It's a hard one to answer because everyone has their own levels of what is acceptable and what is not. I think ours has a superb fit. My best recommendation is to see if someone local to you has one that you can experience, or buy from a place with a return policy in case you don't care for it after using it yourself. Bikinis can be a lot of fun and you never get that feeling of opening up the door to a hot vehicle which is fantastic.
