Just ordered new Overland. Two weeks later no word.

Greetings all! We just ordered a new 2021 Overland for my wife as her "daily driver" on 5/10. As of today I have heard nothing about an order number or VIN. Called the dealer last week and he said he has heard nothing. Is this normal?

Based on my neighbors experience ordering a JLUR, yes. They got the 4xe so the dealer was extra on it to deliver one of the first and there was still a large black hole from what the dealer could even get info on, let alone the buyer.

Interesting.....the dealer said 8-10 weeks delivery for us. I just thought that by now there'd be a VON or VIN.....

Normal. In my experience once the numbers come in the rest is fairly quick. But it can take time for the number. It was more than 2 weeks for mine as I recall. My wife's Grand Cherokee last fall it happened fairly fast. Gotta consider we aren't in normal times, either.......

Do you have a VON? With that Jeep chat can get you a VIN.

Are you in Canada? In USA, I ordered in feb, had von next day vin day after that. I've only heard of canada orders having that issue. I don't know about the past but recently I haven't heard anyone say its taking an abnormal time, other than CA orders.

Sure wasn't that fast for us - either Jeep. Not weeks and weeks, but not next day sort of thing, either. USA.

I ordered a 2021 JT Mojave on 4/30, had a VON on 5/5 and a VIN from Jeep Chat on 5/7.
My dealer told me that a VON is typically issued withing 2-3 business days of the order being submitted.

Well, you should. What’s your dealer places the order he should have the vehicle order number (VON). My guess is they didn’t actually place the order.

This is my third factory order since 2018. I have ordered two JLs in the past and now this JT. Each time, I was given the VON on the same day I ordered it. I got my VIN in three days for this JT order and I had a VIN in less than a week on the other two orders as well. Someone at your dealership is doing something incorrectly.

That doesn't sound right. I ordered my JT on 5/19 and had my VIN on the 22nd. I got in tough with jeep chat yesterday and as of right now my order is "awaiting parts". I'll touch base with Jeep Chat next Monday to pester them some more.....

Just called the dealer and left a voicemail with the sales manager......emailed the salesman yesterday and have not heard back......
