Getting towed to dealer, question

Check engine flashing this am, engine struggling. Called mopar, getting a tow to the dealer.

Looks like they are sending a regular tow truck and not a flat bed.

Do our Jeeps need to be towed on a flatbed, or can it be towed with 2 wheels lifted and transfer case/transmission in neutral

Check the manual about how to unlock the transmission completely before the tow, orange strap located under access panel directly in front of the shifter.....

Good call. According to the manual, JTs can only be towed by 2 methods: flat or flatbed. p380 of the manual (382 digital).

No dolly or wheel lift where it's 2 wheels on/2 wheels off.

Update:

After about 2 dozen calls back and forth between FCA roadside assistance, the Jeep dealer, Jeep cares and non-contracted towing companies it finally arrived at the dealer after 10 hours stranded.

Can’t believe it took that long to get a tow

The pages you mention are for crossing ravines, logs, getting high-centered, etc.

In any case, the page number doesn't truly matter - just wondering why so different - the end result is NO DOLLY and no "2 wheels up" towing according to "the book".

It still bothers me that the roadside assistance people tried to send a regular tow truck to begin with, you would think that they would have protocol to follow based on the vehicle that they are towing.

Some folks prefer to have the Jeep towed in 4L.

I ran into a similar situation two weeks ago, and had a similar experience with the jeep warranty tow service. 2 hr wait for first guy to show up, he didn't know about the orange strap, neither did I. The second guy they said they sent had the dolly Jack's for all four tires. Waited another 3 hrs, call to see where he is and he said the call was cancelled. Third call to the warranty tow service and the send another guy , I call him and he's an hour out. Over this time I've figured out the orange strap thing . Call number 3 after an hour and he tells me he's still waiting on the paperwork. AAA showed up within the hour and off it went. My trouble happened at 1 pm and finally got towed at 830 pm. So much for jeep cares....

Must be model year - mine is a 2020 so I haven't bothered with a 2021 manual - I see no reason since it will cover things not even available in 2020 MY and mine is the latest release for the 2020 MY.
I bet that's it.
Oh well - fact is it was pointed out that the info is in the book.
