I love my Gladiator but given the supply vs demand, it would be very damaging to Jeep's reputation to do anything else. As others have mentioned, they're simply easier to come by for now.

I was fortunate enough to get a gladiator built in 3 weeks from an order through Gupton, ordered the wife a wrangler on July 5th unfortunately still no update on build… I know others are still waiting on their gladiators before I ordered mine and I’m
Not sure the luck of the draw, already have a mopar lift sittin in the garage for the wife’s surprise wrangler since she doesn’t know about it yet

The Toyota Tacoma is the #1 seller in the segment by a LONG margin (which is funny because it's objectively the worst truck in the entire segment in every category).

Then in second place you've got the Ford Ranger and Jeep Gladiator duking it out. In Q2 of this year, I think Ford moved 33k units and Jeep moved 30k units. It's a tight competition.

The Gladiator sells extremely well, and on one of the Wrangler Forums last week I went on a tangent about how if Jeep were hypothetically forced to cancel one model, they should cancel the Wrangler. The Gladiator does 99% of the things Wrangler does, but adds so much more capability and usefulness.
Agree. I'm sure I see more Gladiators now in my area than Rangers. I wouldn't be surprised if the Gladiator surpassed the Ranger by now at all. They aren't much more than a wrangler, if you compare 4 door models of the same trim. $36840 for a Wrangler Sport S vs. 39045 for a Gladiator Sport S. 43045 for a Wrangler Rubicon vs $44565 Gladiator Rubicon. So a 1500-2200 difference, for a truck bed. I think it was a pretty good deal. The 2 door version is cheaper for sure (especially without ac), but I honestly don't see 2-door JLs very often, and fewer on the lot.

Gotta be a regional things for sure. My wife makes a game of counting Jeeps when we are out and about. Wranglers outnumber anything else in the Jeep line and it's not much less than about 40% that are 2 door.
Wranglers here are personal transportation. If people want trucks, they buy trucks. There's no way Jeep could "push" Wrangler buyers into the JT unless they were leaning toward a light truck anyway. Just won't happen here. You don't see many trucks at all smaller than a full-size half ton.

I'd say wranglers outnumber gladiators for sure around here too, and probably always will. My wife has a Wrangler (her 2nd one), and no desire for a Gladiator. She likes my Gladiator, and even had an F150 before, but at this stage, the enclosed storage space of the Wrangler wins for her. It's a plus to have true lockable storage if we go on a long drive or something. I have a tonneau cover, but it's soft, so someone really curious could get in if they really wanted to. It locks but it's not knife proof.

Just my general observation, but Wranglers definitely outnumber gladiators here, but Gladiators far outnumber 2 door wranglers in the JL body style. I don't see many 2 door JKs either. I'm glad there are plenty of 2 door ones around you though, because I'd hate for the two door ever be discontinued. I see so few of them here I often worry that they'll stop making them.

Guess for me I went from full size truck to a wrangler and I loved it, but had my back seats folded down 99% of the time and plenty of times had to open back window to fit stuff in the back.. now I got a Jeep with a bed and I love it, awesome to me… lost a little bit of tow power but does what I want and I can still take the top off

Wranglers have been a household name for decades...why wouldn't the most recognizable vehicle a company produces take priority?

People ask me if I drive the new "wrangler truck"

I'm just happy wranglers sold well enough that they finally made my "Jeep truck"!

I'm starting to see the scarcity at my local dealer. They have probably 6 Willys Gladiators. But only two Wranglers. One Willys and an Islander.

Seriously? Wow! I can drive all day and not see even ONE Gladiator and see 6-8 2 door Wranglers and a dozen 4 doors.
My wife counted about 150 or so various "Wrangler style" Jeeps as she calls them and I think we saw 7 JTs on the way back from CO. Most of the rest were Grand Cherokees, etc.

I see about 8-10 JT daily, of course there's like 4 within a 5 block radius of my home. See loads of wranglers, probably 15-20, 30-40% 2 door, roughly 50/50 split on jk vs jl.

WOW! I don't see that many in 3 months.
We saw 7 between CO and IA - I think 1 of those was while we were still in CO. That was a record for June.
Obviously a niche market and regional thing.

I don't think the Gladiator sells that well. When I was shopping the local Jeep dealers have tons of Gladiators and only 1 or 2 oddball Wranglers.
Same. There were about 15 on the lot when I purchased last month. I had an option of most any color and trim level.
