Yeah, um... LEGO addiction, eh?

That 5 drawer filing cabinet under the Bugatti and Porsche boxes to the right is packed solid with all the catalogs and original instructions I've kept since the mid 70s. Some are worth a fortune. Also, look very close to the captain in the center of the bridge of that stupid SHIP. For some damn reason that minifig lists for $600 over on Bricklink. ??? If I were to sell it all, I could easily pay off the house and the JT.

Speaking of which...

I can quit any time. ?
I love Lego and have for years, but WOW not like that. I have some Lego, most from the late 80's, and have picked up a few special sets over the years like the Wright Flyer, Big Bang set, Yellow submarine and a few others. Most of what I have are from the knights and pirates sets. Love the hood graphics.

Thanks! You know, this entire thread sort has a glaring flaw in the title: These aren't "toys/hobbies", they're a lifestyle or in the very least a massive part of what make all of us US. I could in no way just get rid of LEGO from my life as much as I could just remove my arm. Same with all the beautiful boats, rifles, BBQ (well, that one's easy to "get rid of" if that's how you call reflexive, ravenous devouring. I find myself in Pavlovian glee every time one of you posts pics of their latest grill kill.), etc. But LEGO specifically for me is just simply the exact way I see the world. I can't look at any architecture, vehicle, or any THING without deconstructing it to elemental blocks in order to reconstruct it logically and sensibly. Put simply, it helps me turn off my brain without turning off my brain. Even the clatter of rifling through a bin for that one damn piece I know I have is relaxing and soothingly familiar even though most would find it annoying as hell. Cheers! You ought to find some time to play with your ol' sets if just only for the nostalgia, pretty sure you won't be disappointed. ;)

My lifestyle is my sailboat. If I'm not sailing it, it seems like I'm working on it when I'm not taking care of regular household duties and working.

I know a guy who buys 2 LEGO sets; one to build, one to keep. His basement is full of boxes.

I don't really care about collecting them, they're toys. I like building them. ;)

Last project I worked on. Circa 1939 rolex. I'm sure all catch some heat for destroying the dial

I think some might think of that as destroying, but you did a tasteful job....I'm looking at starting my collection soon, but with an Omega
