This will be my first Jeep. Flying in to pick it up this weekend and my boys (13 & 7) are coming with me. 11hr drive back split between two days. We're going to drive just about the entire length of the Natchez Trace to break her in.

Other than the normal travel stuff is there anything I'm going to really wish I brought with us? I am bringing a screen protector for the Uconnect but decided not to install mudflaps in the dealership parking lot.

From home? Nothing other than maybe a change of clothes and phone chargers / usb cables for tunes.

Once you arrive, maybe some toiletries, snacks, water, and lots of excitement!

Sunscreen if the top is off.
I learned quick even in 70degree and wind the sun still bakes you.
Noted, was thinking we might pull the panels off if it's nice. Didn't think about sunscreen at all.

Plan to pick up the JT then hit Walmart on the way out.

Luckily they both travel really well. I'm usually about to explode before one of them finally speaks up and says they have to go. We could do all 11 hours in a day with out a problem. Figure between airlines and dealership I wanted to split it up.

Well, the JT has an 8-speed auto and you'll need at least a beer for every gear. (Oh, sorry, I forgot it's not 1970 anymore.)
I neglected to mention a disposable ice chest and case of beer was what we were picking up at walmart along with hi-c or wtf kids drink these days. I wish... 20 yrs ago it would have been on!

Do you have a cover on the bed. if not you won't have a lot of storage in the main cab with yourself, two boys and snacks, etc. So gonna have to have a place for extra cloths assuming your not willing to go a couple days in the same outfit. If no cover on bed and you want to store something back there that can't get wet some sort of waterproof bag

Wife and I have done many road trips with the top down in our TT's, A5 Cabriolet and Mustang convertible. Nowhere near as loud or windy as the JT with just the front top off. I'd plan on the majority of the drive with the top fully on, but maybe have it off for a bit. 11 hrs is a long time to have the roof off, let alone the doors.
