Can I fit a full 35x12.5 spare w/rim underneath the gladiator?

I need a full spare but I'm not sure I can fit it underneath my 2020 sport. I recently installed the Mopar 2 inch lift and upgraded to 35x12.5 Falken Wild Peaks. Looks great but I need a full spare for road trips. Does anyone know if I'd be able to get a full spare underneath? I was going to buy a 5th Rockstar 2 with a full spare but don't want to spend that kind of dough if it's not going to fit underneath in the spare slot. Any know if I can? Thoughts and info would be helpful.

I have the same question. Bought 4 rims with 35s because I am not sure if the spare will feet. the tire will feet but I am not sure about the wider rim ( fuel 17*9 )……

Yeah I'm running 20x9 Rockstar 2s with 35x12.5. I'd rather not spend the money on another rim since it's only for an emergency flat. I don't mind buying the tire but it's a waste to buy the rim to keep it underneath. I read I can just buy another 35 inch Fallen Wild Peak AT3 and throw it on the existing spare but I'm not sure. Hopefully we get some comments of people who've already done this ?

Just found this on the threads. Looks like we can definitely fit a 35 but I would love to know if I can slap a 35 on the spare rim??.

You can fit SOME 37's in there, so yes your 35 will fit. I have a TOYO RT 35/12.50-17 on a Dirty Life DT1 under mine.

My 35s on a 17x9 rim fits no problem but obviously it does poke down a bit more than the stock steel wheel the spare had on it.

I was told that the backspace of the spare rim will not fit the 2.5 teraflex suspension that I have ordered…..

That all depends on what tire shop you use. Some will, others will not do to liability issues. Minimum manufacturers wheel width for a 12.50 wide tire is an 8.5 wide wheel.

I'm thinking I should see if I can get a plain Jane 20x9 spare rim on the cheap? Then I wonder if it matters with my -12 offset on the other rims when it's installed? Ultimately I may end up just getting another Rockstar 2 20x9 and another tire just to avoid any headaches. One question always leads to another. The minute I went from my 2017 Silverado to this Gladiator my happiness skyrocketed so did the cost of doing what I want?.

If its just a spare for me I really don't care about any recommended wheel widths to fit that tire. If you were planning on rotating in the spare then yeah I would care more but its just a spare.

I"m going to challenge your premise that you need a 5th wheel.

If you get a flat in the front, then its no problem off road and its no problem on-road in 2wd.

If you get a flat in the rear, you can always swap the rear to the front.

I'm not saying its ideal. But if you can't fit a 35 under the bed, then it may be the best option. Better certainly than taking up half the bed with a spare tire.

Yes. recommended width is irrelevant if you are just driving a few hundred or even a few thousand miles.

You could do a 285/75/17 for a spare. It will be close enough to a 35 and fit the spare rim really good.

Most 35s don’t run true to size so you won’t be too far off.

I just had my ToyoAT3 35x12.5 installed on the spare wheel and it fits.
