How long did it take you to recover?

I took delivery late October. Immediately burned through around $4k. Lmao. Slowed down now.

Early next year I'm adding OEM front trail cam and aux switches then I'm gonna enjoy the truck for awhile before I set more money on fire.

Loving the truck tho.

Wow, in all honesty, FOR NOW it is in 4lo 1st gear no skinny pedal. After almost 1 yr and 20K and ~ 100 miles of various off road adventures/challenging trails we are in pretty good shape. Not a lot I want to change other than some skid plates on the underbelly and maybe a few other things. I am super happy with this rig as built, and it has done it's job very well. If the plans change down the line who knows. Super charger or hemi just for fun?? haha, probably not. A buddy of mine has a '97 air cooled 911, and the license plate is something like MDLIFRX, perfect.

I did a lot of usability stuff..... ripped carpet out for Armorlite....put a Bedrug in....Rokblockz flaps....door cart......really just accessories and protection so far. Added missing factory options like cargo rails....etc Powertrain and suspension/tires all stock working great.

Yeah I was missing the rails also, easy fix. I knew after buying the JT I was destined for Moab and Colorado and other road trips as that has always been on my bucket list. But those would be painful in the XJ I've been wheeling for 20 years. That rig went on a diet and all the carpet and extra stuff stripped out to lose as much weight as possible for SoCal stuff. It could make it, but we would probably be deaf from all the road noise. Now riding in comfort on 37's is like a dream.

As I tell my students " suck it up buttercup, life does not revolve around you anymore." In our case "it revolves around our JEEP".
