I haven’t heard that. Maybe due to your wheels being 18”. Mine are 17x7.5 i think.
Stock Rubicon/Mojave tires are 285 wide, and they come on 7.5" wheels, so I don't think you need an 8" wheel for a 285.

My Overland has OEM wheels 18x7.5.
Apparently from what I’m reading in specs, 285 tires need a 8” wide wheel.
How wide were your stock wheels?
285s are fine on a 7.5” wheel. Lots of people run 285s on 7.5” wheels. There are members who run 295s on stock overlands with stock wheels. They report no rubbing, but I’m not sure about that. I’m pretty sure I’m pushing the limits.

Thanks for the info. Ordered TeraFlex shocks tonight, will also add TeraFlex 1.5 front lift. Will start looking at tires this week.
Kust had the steering box replaced, I guess it drives better.

Mine drives so much better after the new steering gear. Mine was really bad before though.
