I didn’t know about EBDIs that different than the electronic brake differential that' we all have? I don't know much about the Toyota system, but from what I just read "A-TRAC stands for “Active Traction Control” and comes standard on some of Toyota's 4-wheel-drive models. ... A-TRAC detects when one or more wheels have lost traction and automatically applies the brakes to the wheel with no traction, allowing it to send power to the wheel with traction."
That sounds exactly like the EBD.
It would be more the BLD. Doesn't offroad cruise control just maintain speed? The off road cruise control button (button by the radio) does the same thing as ATRAC………I believe. Someone correct me if aim wrong here.
My understanding is it’s a refinement of the old hill descent control which definitely used the ABS to individually control the wheels. Basically it’s hill descent control that works without the need for a hill and will maintain a set speed. Again, I could be off base…..but I don’t think it am.It would be more the EBD. I think selec-speed/off-road cruise control is also using the BLD to do it's thing. BLD is what brakes the individual wheel using abs when one slips. My JT does not have selec speed/ off-road cruise but I still have the individual wheel braking and the brake lock differential. The effect is even stronger in off-road+ mode. I assume BLD is also active with off-road cruise enabled. Is Toyota ATRAC also using ebd + low speed control? My understanding is it’s a refinement of the old hill descent control which definitely used the ABS to individually control the wheels. Edit: originally I called it electronic brake differential, because that's what it's called on VWs and Audis. On our jeeps, it's the Brake Lock differential, Same thing, different name.
Need a reason to not get lockers.
- Turn Assist and ATRAC aren't really close in operation, so no, it cannot act like ATRAC. Just because they both use ABS does not mean they operate in the same way.
- What function are you looking to gain exactly that your Jeep does not currently have?
Manuals don't. All automatics do.I'm pretty sure all the JT's and JL's have off road cruise control. .
That's duck mode.......Manuals don't. All automatics do.. You guys have an extra button that I don't have. Still get BLD, of course, but no offroad cruise.
Manuals don't get this.:

Since mine is just blank there anyway, it'd kind of be cool if I could get a duck decal put there, to confuse passengers. That's duck mode.......
