That is a good thought and something I didn't think of. I was driving in this morning and starting to question of I should NOT go with the 270.I considered the 270, kind of liked the idea of opening the front one side or other. I wound up with the SE and sent it back as i was unhappy with the quality of the welds and the fit is just not right for the Gladiator. One issue I had with the SE that the 270 would help with is that the release handle is on the driver side so the lock rod travels all the way to the passenger side and is hard to get tight. Their customer service was good and took care of the return great just didn't offer much of a solution for the problem.
I've had a number of Diamondback lids over the years on my trucks and now on my Gladiator. I absolutely love them and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. I seriously thought about the 270 but ended up with the regular one. I walk around on top of them all the time and they make an outstanding platform for my Ham radio antennas. I can't speak for others but I've had zero issues with all of mine and their support have been awesome, even proactively reaching out to me to make sure I was setup ok. Can't ask for more than that. I have the HD, Smooth finish, hooks not installed. That is a good thought and something I didn't think of. I was driving in this morning and starting to question of I should NOT go with the 270.
KHam, i like the smooth finish without the cleats installed. I also like the idea of that center mount antenna, I could mount mine front-center on the 270! Good looking rig also, I have the Granite color.I've had a number of Diamondback lids over the years on my trucks and now on my Gladiator. Thanks. the two on the left are NMO mounts, one for UHF/VHF and the center one for GMRS but I can swap any antennas in I want and match them at the radios since they all terminate at the same place. The right one though is a fixed HF breedlove mount for the screwdriver antenna. This cover provides enough metal to give me a great surface ground.KHam, i like the smooth finish without the cleats installed.
