Do you have a link? I put some of the LED string lights on it but did not like them. That looks a lot better.
Muzata 10Pack 3.3ft/1M Black LED Channel System with Crystal Transparent Clear Cover Lens,Aluminum Extrusion Track Housing Profile for Strip Tape Light with, U Shape U1SW BT 1M,LU1 LH1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FQ74F9P/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_B18T58QZ7HPZ3W9VBCSJ

LEDwholesalers UL 16.4-ft Flexible LED Light Strip with 300xSMD2835 12-Volt 24-Watt, Warm White 3000K, 20105WW-30K https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HTWRE74/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_30Z69VRMVJA2EQ2VBGNR

So the LEDs are rated ip33 which means basically they have no protection from moisture. I'll see how they hold out but I'm using the heat sink with the clear covers so they should be okay but I'm worried about condensation. Each 16ft strip will let you do 2 awning post, and I purchased the 3.3ft channels because I would have to cut them reguardless.

Waiting for more parts to finish other side and trying to figure out the switch system I want to use. I'll post more pics once everything is finished and my lifepo4 battery is installed with dc to dc charger and inverter.

Finished the other side, waiting for switches and junction box. Probably an overkill but I'm a control freak so each light will have it's own switch.

Whats great is that its only running 7 amps. Obviously you dont want to run this off your car battery but you could buy a small 50ah lithium battery and itll run the light for about 7hrs! And you can just charge it at home before you head out if its only for an overnight trip.

I was going to suggest that you should get an awning that does not open up under your tent, if your getting one that opens like a clam shell. I went passenger side because my RTT open towards the driver's side. Just my $.02

I believe you can choose which side the entrance is on a RRT, no? Reguardless, i would not go with a RRT because of the weight and the fact i have to take it on and off. So i have a softopper coming and i would just sleep in the bed with an inflatable mattress. I was actually thinking about purchasing a 180 awning for the passenger side with walls and have a full 360 ensure with the softopper as my sleeping canopy.

Wow, I would love to see that fortress!! And I must have misread your earlier posts. I thought I saw you were thinking about an RTT. My bad. Anywho. I love the lights on your awning. I have the same one, and might do the same thing as soon as I get it installed on my trailer.

So I've used the awning with the lights 5 times now and I must say I couldnt be happier with the setup. The lights are much brighter then I thought they would be and the awning had no issues with 20 mph winds with the support poles and guy tie downs. I'm in the process of installing lights that I can turn on while I'm packing up the awning now, I can finally install my renogy dc to dc charger and inverter because my softopper is set to arrive tomorrow.

I have the Kinsman awning on my GFC. Went driver as I am going to be the person using it the most, as well as being able to keep an eye on it better vs on the passenger side.

Don't mind my friend walking around the JT LOL

I prefer the Kinsman as I do not need ANY poles at all. The wind rating of this thing exceeds most other awnings. I have dogs so leashes will get wrapped around poles, so that was the main factor in finding a freestanding ONLY awning.

I run my awning on the passenger side, the thinking being, that as I’m passing other oncoming vehicles on tight trails I don’t have to worry about collisions. Mine, an OVS 270, is mounted to a Front Runner Slimline II over top of a DiamondBack HD with granite countertop brackets.

Here’s my lighting write up.
