Hey guys question
What’s the difffrence between the rubi rear bumper vs sport
Is it just the two tow hooks vs one?
If so can the sport be converted for two hooks?

Thanks in advance

The Rubicon rear bumper is made of steel, and the others have plastic. It also has provisions for the bedside rock sliders that are standard on the Rubicons. Yes, you can add a second hook to the sport bumper though. You have to cut a hole where the second hook mounts.

You can get either plastic or steel front bumpers with the Rubicon and all Rubicons have steel rear bumpers on the back with two hooks. The second hook can be added to non rubicon models with the plastic bumper. Mopar sells a kit (JTREARTOWHOOK) to add the second hook to the non rubicon plastic bumpers. Some people just buy a hook and cut a hole where the hook protrudes out. Robmotivejt has a video on youtube (Jeep Gladiator Rear Tow Hook Addition) on adding a second hook. Yes the Sport can have a second hook added!

All Rubicons have metal rear bumpers. The front metal one is optional, the rear steel one is standard to the trim. It is the same on all Rubicons. The bracket for the bedside rock sliders is welded to the metal.

I think you have to get the steel bumper option for that to be the case, otherwise it's also plastic.
No, all Rubicons have rear steel bumpers. It's standard. See above post from the build site. They are all metal.

why would only the Rubicon get the steel rear bumper as standard and the other trims wouldn't that doesn't make sense

Ask jeep, I guess? Lol I don't know. That's just how it is. I think it's because of the rock sliders on Rubicons that attach to the bumper.

There are sliders on the back of the Rubicon, behind the rear fender. Those aren't on Mojaves.

I think you can add them, but you might have to trim the bumper.

What Chad said.............
You have rock rails - rocker panel area, below the doors, between the front and rear tires.
He's talking pieces that protect the lower edge of the bed or box, behind the rear wheels, they go between the frame rails behind the wheels and the ends of the bumper so if you go down a deep cut, the tail doesn't drag and crush up the bottom of the box behind the rear wheels.

The "plastic" bumpers have a steel framework under the plastic shell, they are thin steel, though.

I know many don't like the OE steel rear bumper, but in my one-time experience, I'll say, it's strong. My off-road adventures probably won't ever be aggressive enough to test it. But I did accidentally back into a concrete ballast in a parking lot right after I got my JT. Only damage was some scraped black paint, which I was easily able to repair. It sticks out just enough that it saved my taillight from getting damaged too. It did its job.
