I agree. 2.5in lift and 37s is pretty much the perfect balance of DD and wheeler.
Though I have watch a stock JTRD hang. It just scrapes more.
Ahh, I was looking at 35s! Any recommendations for a good on-road 37? KO2's were going to be my choice for 35, hadn't considered the size up before.

I just had my 2 year JT anniversary....
I do not have a warden and I like to turn my own wrenches.
It will probably never be done.
I went through phases....
33s....Rubi takeoffs
then 35s...regear...lift
Wheeled a lot and learned a lot. It was my COVID project. I have 4 kids and my middle son loves ghost towns. Oldest is knocking out his ASE certs. We will run up a trail for lunch and back.
I'm prepping my axles for 37-38s at the moment.

You are right though.... I do have a lot of expensive stuff.
Just had this vision in my head and I am chasing it.
The people I have met and the adventures I have had in 2 years are priceless.
Love what you've done. I'm coming up on 3yrs in August, and you are spot on "probably never be done"

My story follows @Shopshirt almost exactly:

I was all in for the Gladiator when it was first revealed... but my circumstances were such that I really didn't need a new expensive truck at the time (due to an existing lease). So when the Bronco was revealed, I caught the bug and bought in, understanding that I would lose the 'truck' aspect of the vehicle once it was delivered.
I remember being all in on the Gladiator when it was first revealed too. I had an F-150 at the time and planned on getting one when they came out. Well in 2019 we got guardianship of my newborn granddaughter and needed something more family and infant friendly. Ended up with a 2019 Grand Cherokee Upland. In the meantime my son in law bought a mt Sting Gray Rubicon Gladiator and had nothing but problems. I decided to wait it out. Ended up getting mine in 2021. No issues so far.

Drive it for a while and see what you might want to change. Believe it or not there are people that are perfectly happy with their unmodded Gladiators.

One thing I will say is a must have out of the gate is some sort of dead pedal.

And I too was almost a Bronco customer. Placed an order with Chapman for a Big Bend Sasquatch. The wait was going to be long with them so I placed another order with a different dealer for a Black Diamond. Order was placed January 31st and it came in to the dealer a few weeks ago. I decided to pass. Main reason was all of the quality issues the Bronco is having. And it seems like there is a new one every week. Second reason is Ford isn't offering any lease options and the dealer wasn't willing to do leases with any other banks. I wasn't willing to commit 100% until I felt it out for a few years. I'll wait until the Chapman order finally gets built and see how things are then.

This is the one getting away.

I’m not sure Jeep is any better as far as delivery. I ordered a JTR February 25, not built until April 14 and has been sitting in Toledo since then as well as over 177 more Gladiators for dealers in New Mexico, Arizona, and west Texas with no ETA. It pays to order from a dealer in the East

Unless you are running a JTRD, you will need to regear at 37s. IMHO 2.5in lift and 37s is a sweet spot for wheeling and DD.
A lot of the bigger lifts require a new driveshaft.

Look at the options. New drive shaft or "I am an JT expert and don't need one"
I am running Nittos. I like them, but I have heard GREAT things about the KO2.
Yeah, you can go nuts...40s and D60....but it all gets pricey. I'd have D60s and 40s and a Demon crate motor if funds were unlimited....
@FR33DOM has the perfect DD and wheeler. @Clayton Off Road 2.5 Overland Plus with 37s. 5.13 gearing cause he tows etc. Check that flex and call me a liar. His rig has wheeled and towed and hauled kids extensively. I learned a lot from him. Over build and wheel just under what your rig can handle. For a DD that is ideal.

Sorry, I owned one Ford, and It always left me stranded, junked it, Ford rental in Cali., transmission gave up 10 miles from the airport, Daughter bought a 14' Fiesta, teenager, 7 times in one year to the dealer for the same problem, told her to trade it or I would make sure it burned to the ground!!

I did buy from a neighbor a 1988 GT Vert, like new condition, was wrecked, almost ready to go to my friends body shop, will report if its kept or sold....

as you can tell I have a good reason to steer far away from the blue oval, never done me any justice!

Greetings! For those of you who hang around the Bronco6G forums, you may have seen me posting regularly, sharing in the mass frustration of the reservation debacle.

But since Ford dropped the ball hard and couldn't be bothered to care about me as a customer, I went back. I was always coming back.

SO! Super stoked on my Gobi Rubi-Gladiator and it's my first Jeep in 10 years since I sold my beloved Wrangler. What first mods would you all recommend? I am going for a Military "Iraqi" inspired Humvee look. 35's and a bed rack system is all I have in mind so far.

Thanks! Happy to be here
Same exact story! Reserved a Bronco 7/2020. Ford still hasn’t generated a VIN for it to this day. Nor were they be able to build it in 2021, nor will they in 2022 either. Ordered a Gobi Mojave this past Monday, and got a VIN in two days from Jeep.

Staying Pumped! jeep! jeep!
