Greetings! For those of you who hang around the Bronco6G forums, you may have seen me posting regularly, sharing in the mass frustration of the reservation debacle.

But since Ford dropped the ball hard and couldn't be bothered to care about me as a customer, I went back. I was always coming back.

SO! Super stoked on my Gobi Rubi-Gladiator and it's my first Jeep in 10 years since I sold my beloved Wrangler. What first mods would you all recommend? I am going for a Military "Iraqi" inspired Humvee look. 35's and a bed rack system is all I have in mind so far.

Thanks! Happy to be here.

EDIT 1: Really appreciate the responses guys! The Jeep community is great and I can't wait to create a build journal. Loads and loads of ideas now.

Lots of reading material here for me, thanks for taking the time to respond everyone.

Yep, I was on G6 but the Bronco has some issues that will take a few years to refine. The Gladiator is refined. Welcome to the land of the living. I suggest you go slow and really think what you want for the JT. Everything is expensive.

Real skid plates, rock sliders, steel bumpers, a hoist for your garage to take the top off, and a re-gear for bigger tires.

As you come from another forum, is suggest to use the search feature. There are many first mod threads...
The mods that work for one may not work for you. Drive your Jeep and learn what you need along the way.

I would start out with something simple like visor clips. Very cheap insurance. Might as well get them before you need them. I scored a set on eBay the other day for $11. Other mods will be WAY more expensive.
Enjoy your new truck.

Yep, spent plenty of time in B6G land. No fault of the posters but over there was drama central. Ford's mishandling of everything was really starting to boil over on B6G by the time i called it quits.

A pefect example was dealerinsider getting crucified by the general population for asking how he should handle his BRaptor allocation. Dude put multiple consumer friendly programs together including 3% below invoice, 4% below invoice, lease with guaranteed buyout for people who needed a car now while waiting for their bronco, and horse-trading for consignment broncos to get in the hands of reservationists who didn't want to wait. Then he had "the nerve" to ask what a reasonable amount of ADM was for his super limited allocation of hi-po broncos and people went ballistic.

I am still in one of dealerinsider's buyout lease gladiators that I got in December 21. I go to Chapman at 5pm tonight to pick up my gobi mojave to buy. haven't cancelled my bronco reservation yet, but obviously i'm going to.

2 months into my glad lease i really started questioning why i wanted a bronco so badly. 3 months in i was playing on jeep.com B&P almost every day, trying to talk myself out of spending mojave level money. 4 months into my glad lease, they announced gobi paint orders opening up, and i finally jumped. texted @dealerinsider and asked if he would buy out my lease if I got a glad instead of a bronco. Of course he wasn't gonna say no, dude just wants to sell cars. Doubt he really cares which ones he sells that much.

The drama was outrageous, and being a Canadian, Ford really didn't bother with us who reserved one. Single-handidly made me despise Ford more than any other car company, purely from the perspective of just basic customer communication.

Drive it for a while and see what you might want to change. Believe it or not there are people that are perfectly happy with their unmodded Gladiators.

One thing I will say is a must have out of the gate is some sort of dead pedal.

And I too was almost a Bronco customer. Placed an order with Chapman for a Big Bend Sasquatch. The wait was going to be long with them so I placed another order with a different dealer for a Black Diamond. Order was placed January 31st and it came in to the dealer a few weeks ago. I decided to pass. Main reason was all of the quality issues the Bronco is having. And it seems like there is a new one every week. Second reason is Ford isn't offering any lease options and the dealer wasn't willing to do leases with any other banks. I wasn't willing to commit 100% until I felt it out for a few years. I'll wait until the Chapman order finally gets built and see how things are then.

This is the one getting away.

I bailed on my Day-1 Bronco reservation over a year ago. Was pushed back twice ... Best thing that could have happened. Jumped in a Gladiator at the Orlando Auto Show, never looked back at the Bronco ... ordered one 30 days later and extremly happy ...

A simple but useful accessory is something like the Body Armor 4 in 1 Hitch skid. They’re a few bucks, but worth it for the added protection. There’s a couple brands and a knockoff copy in the market. Give it a thought.

Welcome! I dumped out on my Ford order also after extreme frustration etc and rejoined the Jeep world after not having had one since my TJ! Ordered my Gladiator Feb 10th and had it in my hands 8 weeks later!!! Everyone will give you great guidance here on upgrades etc. One thing is there is a world of upgrades out there so enjoy the Jeep aftermarket buying moto of “Just Empty Every Pocket”!

Get the simple stuff done first like a dead pedal, etc. I also recommend getting a holder for your cell phone and Go Pro if you use one. I use the bulletpoint. Then one you get a feel for driving move on to tires, wheels, lifts, etc. Also rack for the back, etc. The world is your oyster!!!! Jeep will provide you emotional recovery from your Ford experience like it did for me!
