We got a chance to test out the Icon Vehicle Dynamics Rebound PRO wheels that feature a non-traditional approach to locking your tire's bead.

Join @Tech Tim out on the trail and in the Northridge4x4 DIY Garage as he shows you these cool wheels from Icon.

Few things.

they don’t come with any spare bolts which is irritating.

One of my wheels wasn’t fully tapped for one of the bolts which becamea 3 hour nightmare.

Lightweight and definitely hold the bead.

These look pretty innovative. What’s the actual weight? I don’t see the weight mentioned in the specs.

What's the poke on those beyond the fenders? Love those rims.

Here's what I've never understood about beadlocks. There's 2 beads. How does locking only one side prevent pinch flats or bead rolloff?

For reasons the outer bead is most likely to De bead.

That was one of the first things we said when opening the box.

We didn't have any issues with the set we tested, but an extra bolt or two would've been a nice cushion just in case.

Icon's website says 28lbs.

The average traditional beadlock weighs 36 lbs ~ish.

As @californiajeeping said, it is usually the outer bead you loose. It is very rare to loose the inner bead first.

Pinch flats are a tube thing, we don't have to worry about those.
