It’s a 20gal tank, and I’d say, low end 40 tire fills. So just a rough guess I made it a year ago and used it constantly, I just traded in my old one for a new one. So roughly a year with heavy use. More if you don’t use it often and maintain it well. The only down side to these systems is getting a leak. How big is the tank, and how many times can you air up before needing a refill?
Thanks. Wow. I had no idea you could refill that many times. Is there a system that allows you to just refill a tank with air instead of CO2, so you can refill with a home compressor? Maybe that makes less sense though, depending on the cost to refill. It’s a 20gal tank, and I’d say, low end 40 tire fills. I had the same issue running Maxxis RAZR MT 37x12.50r17 spare. Clayton track bar fixed my rubbing issue as wellThat’s how my OE track bar looked as well. It was fine on the road, but would rub the spare at full articulation. I’m running the bent clayton track bar now, and it never rubs.
I never actually rubbed, but put the bent one on before any wheeling after the lift.I had the same issue running Maxxis RAZR MT 37x12.50r17 spare. Clayton track bar fixed my rubbing issue as well
Why? You been wheeling in places where you got high centered? What is the recommended plan for the spare? Are you buying a 5th aftermarket wheel and fitting it?
Are 37’s fitting on the OEM spare?
have 35’s and feeling buyers remorse wishing I got my KO2’s in a 37”
I’ll happily show you some trails that will high center a JT on even 37’s, but easily 35’s.Why? You been wheeling in places where you got high centered?
I’m comfortable with the size of my penis and I’m very happy with my 285/70/18s. They get me further than most people with 37s will ever go and it still drives great with stock fuel economy and decent power and handling.
I agree. Just playing statistics. 95% of people buy them for looks.I’ll happily show you some trails that will high center a JT on even 37’s, but easily 35’s.Definitely not a contest, but there are trails one won’t do well on with metric 33’s. Some of us seek them out.
True. I understand the possible buyers remorse. I almost went with 35’s, but didn’t want to have almost any trails out of my reach. So 37’s went on. I for one won’t go bigger though I don’t think. It’s still drivable safely and comfortably at interstate speeds.I agree. Just playing statistics. 95% of people buy them for looks.
I believe you get pretty weak pressure from home compressors compared to what those tanks can handle, so a home fill would fill far fewer tires and more slowly...Thanks. Wow. I thought you couldn't use a tank mounted horizontally? Think I saw PowerTank note they have a bent pickup tube or something like that...Much quicker refill, and cheaper.
So basically, I made my own C02 system. Went to my local air gas company and purchased a 20gal tank (already filled) with the correct adapter ($60). Then went on Amazon bought the adapter to a quick disconnect then the disconnect itself ($30).Next item was the hose and the digital Chuck to check the PSI of each tire as I fill. ($30). Total less than $200.
Average price for a dual compressor (ARB, Etc) is $200 +. Then you have to have a cycle of 1 min use 1 min cool down. Typically. Taking that into account it takes more than 5 minutes to refill 1 tire (37’s) from 12 psi to 30 psi (argument sake just basing it off of my rig) C02 it takes less than 2 minutes to fill from 12 psi to 30 psi and there is no cool down, just instant on and off. So basically it’s just easier and more realistic. My hose reaches the entire vehicle and I can still use my tank to blow off shit on the bed ?. See attached picture for the set up. I have it on a bracket and then ratchet strapped for extra security when I go off roading.

I have a bent rear Clayton "at the ready". Perhaps I'll toss it on to avoid rubbing offroad at full flex. I have a front Clayton too that I purchased but wanted to try it out prior to install to see how things went in increments. Seems to be ~1/2-5/8" to spare sitting there statically, and we know that'll change when the suspension is cycled. That’s how my OE track bar looked as well. It was fine on the road, but would rub the spare at full articulation. I’m running the bent clayton track bar now, and it never rubs.
I haven’t found a system like that, but I’m sure you could make one! Thanks. Wow. I had no idea you could refill that many times. Just for reference, this is from PowerTank who sells the CO2 systems, when using a 10gal tank (OP stated his is 20). I assume they are calculating on the conservative side:Thanks. Wow.
