I’ve heard people putting their spare tire, 37 12.50 R17 under the bed. I’m assuming the heat shield would need to be removed or modified to make this work correct?

I hear you have to let the air down to 8 then air back up when in place. I have a Synergy rear track bar. Hope it's OK with that.

The Clayton rear track bar has a bend in it to accommodate a 37” spare. There may be others, but that’s what I had to use.

A lot depends on the tire it's self from different manufacturers. I have the Clayton rear track bar. My 37" Eldorado Extreme Mud Claw fits at 40 psi. Didn't have to do anything to get it to fit. Other tires, you have to have less air pressure for them to fit.
