Everyone has stuff they don't care for....Shelf roads for me are fine, for the most part. but getting tipped sideways is not my jam. I do plan to ask for a spotter on the steps of Black Bear. No shame in it.
Time flies it was two years ago I did the academy and pee wee ,guardrail in mo.
I am all in ,I will be the mountain rookie on this adventure.

I felt Pee Wee was not too bad. Just hated being sideways. :CWL:

To be honest, time and time again I am hearing that a stock jeep is more ideal for black bear than a lifted with wide tires lol It is not a hard trail just the trail has serious consequences. Most people don't go off of the side of the road but instead get psyched out by the drop and unintentionally drive up the side of the mountain and flip the rigs over blocking the road. We will definitely use spotters on the steps part and at the first switch back. With gladiators or any mid-size truck we will have to do 3 point turn at a minimum, but we will take our time and will be safe doing it while enjoying beautiful scenary.

@BUZZHEAD
I assume you can park in a parking space, so you will be fine. You have GMRS. We will use them to communicate. It used to be a lot worse.

So they got it back a lot faster then I thought. They checked the shocks out and found that while one had paint missing it was operating normally with no leaks. I'm going to clean off the shocks myself and double check to make sure there isn't any leaks, but they know about my concern. Other wise all brand new tires and wheel spacers which stick out just enough to clear everything now.

Ran it through an empty parking lot and everything seems as good as new. Amazing how my turning radius improved when the tires aren't grinding against my shocks.

Now that would be a two wheel competition .You have to have a blast living in the mountains. This is the first time in 13 years I am not riding to DEADWOOD SOUTH DAKOTA. I was considering to put her up for sale so I can focus on my new hobby.

It would be, a two-part competition. Who is going to bust their oil pan first and who will do more damage to the bike lol I absolutely love riding in Colorado minus the crazy drivers around here. I absolutely love riding so it is always toss-up what I am taking to work every day. Mostly my gladiator wins because my pup goes with me :)

Just do a tally and put all of the information in one place. Here is the list of people that confirmed.

Mike "DocMike" - Colorado Springs, CO
Andrey "Molevich" - Colorado Springs, CO
Frank - New Jersey, NJ
Jared "Offroadnewbie" - Colorado, CO
Joseph "Chargingstar" - Peyton, CO
Tate "Wylie E" - Abilene, TX
Bob "Buzzhead" - Lake Station, IN

Maybee
Austin "Metzger" - Denver, CO hopefully you get your truck out of the shop and can join us.

The best place to get gas before hitting the campground is Conoco in Telluride. Adress is 100 Society Dr, Telluride, CO 81435

I am leaving on July 25th ahead of the main body. I want to get to the campground and reserve a spot just in case. Tentative, the area marked with a red square where I am thinking would be ideal. I will be on the radio on the 26th so when you getting close give me heads up.

I would bring recovery gear. I don't think we will need it but it is always nice to have and not need it.
Definitely yes on water cans and spare water. I don't see fuel being an issue, but a jug of it wouldn't hurt.

I am bringing pretty much all my camping gear. Two water cans and one water purifying jug. 4 way air up and down system that I am more than happy to share. Skottle, jet boil genesis for cooking. I have a Dometic Fridge, so I am set for food the whole week. Bear spray. Lots of tools. But most importantly my year and half old Cane Corso pup and good attitude :)
