I don’t see any reason at all we couldn’t have both. A strong case could also be made for the Mojave to be IFS #FlameSuitON! LOL 😝
I heard somebody say why can't they build it with IFS for Sport and Sahara/Overland/Mojave and then give the Rubicon the solid front axle? Then everybody is happy.

On paper that's a great idea but in reality I don't think they'd do that. One of the big benefits of IFS is that they could shorten the chassis considerably and make the truck shorter overall. If they did some with IFS and some with solid front axles they'd have to build two totally different frames, suspensions, etc. and it wouldn't be cost effective.

But yeah, I hear what you're sayin'

Do you honestly think they’d make a SFA Dakota?
No particular reason not to.

Makes the most sense to me to have Wrangler, Gladiator, and Dakota all sharing chassis and powertrains.

But also makes sense to me to not completely walk away from the fleet market you dominate with cheap, reliable sedans and switch to EV's that cost twice as much.

Also makes sense to me to not totally abdicate the mid sized SUV market when you're pulling 30% market share in the most crowded segment.

And Stellantis did those things, so who knows lol.

Zero chance. No one would buy it. It would get blasted in reviews, but no one would look past it because it’s not a Jeep with removable top and doors and the look/perceived lifestyle image.

When Ram is targeting an entry price 10k higher than every one else, I don't think anyone needs to be scared.

Stellantis has still lost the plot.

What do you mean $10k higher.
Target of $40K is right in line with starting range of the competition.
Ranger is currently mid to high 30s starting MSRPs for 2026.
Most on the lots are MSRP mid to high 40s.

By 2028 $40K would not be out of line given the typical annual inflation rates.

It still comes down to price. Price. Price.
I could foresee it as a top of the line trim starting at 75k, knowing Stellantis.

Interestingly, a local dealer here has a 2021 GC Limiited on the lot with the 5.7 V8 that was originally available then as an option. They had the original window sticker for it and it showed the 5.7 as a $3,795 option. And that was available on the Limited model, a mid-lower trim level.

How much do you bet they don't offer a Dakota anything with a V8 unless you go top of the line trim, like the Wrangler? Any takers?

I would be one of the first in line ordering a V8 Dakota they ever make one.
Had V8 Lariat back in 2008.
