It will go in 8th at 45mph, so yeah I see it all the time. I just made the comment that it will drop to 7th from time to time. Stock gearing and 35ās it never went above 6th unless I was going down hill or coasting.
Here are my rpmās at 65mph with current setup
Been running 4.56 for almost two years.
3.73 with 35ās on mine ⦠6th gear damn near ALL the time, saw 7th very rarely and didnāt even know that 8th was there
my fuel economy sucked stock never saw over 19mpg and saw 19mpg once⦠on my very first tank.
I tend to drive the speed limit and with...
I have a basic 3.6 with 35ās and went from 3.73 to 4.56 a year ago this past Tuesday. I remember the first time I put it in gear with the 4.56 and was floored.
that gear was reverse, it was a huge difference from stock to 4.56
if I have a strong headwind at 65+ mph or an incline it will...
oh yeah, something I failed to mention prior....what ever gearing you chose be it 4.56 or 4.88 the VERY first thing I noticed when I picked it up was when I put it in reverse to back out of the parking spot. It is sooooo much better .
Hey Devildog I went through this exact ordeal and like you the research was probably the funnest part, lol.
I run 315/70-17 Copper STT Pros and ended up going with 4.56. I truly believe you will be fine with the 4.88's. I dont tow much other than a pipe 16' tandem with a UTV or a zero...
Im either in town or where speed limit is 65mph or more.
If I were to post on the: What did you do TO your Gladiator today thread it basically would be:
I put gas in it.:CWL:
As did I. I bought one on sale just after i mounted STT pros for around $130 to replace my stock spare so that I had a 35 to match size, plus I want these tires when my current ones wear out ānot sure if that will ever happen, these coops wear like iron so farā.
the local Walmart mounted it...
I had a Sierra that I flooded the evaporation filter with, it threw a code. I took it in and they fixed it and suggested I dont top it off any more. Ok...what ever...
In my gladiator, I tend to fill it till it clicks and leave...That little extra 1-2gal "if that" is not going to get me but...
This is the thing Ive never understood. I always bring up @Jeeperjamie cause in my eyes he has unicorn for his mpg have always been great. Im beginning to wonder if I got a Turd instead. I never saw 8th with 35's and only saw 7th when mentioned above, when stock I never saw 19mpg but once...
When stock I never saw over 19mpg. I dont speed and I use cruse most of the time. Most places I run down here the min speed limit is 65mph, unless Im in town.
If I run 55-60 mph I'm around the lower 19mpgs for Ive seen it a time or two. Of course...all it will will take is a minute head...
I feel the same as @DocMike , although I went with 4.56. He lives at altitude, I do not.
I tend to travel up to Ohio every Halloween timeframe to hunt on buddies farm. Last year I had the same set up as my signature but running 3.73's... was in 6th gear coming and going.
This year I had...
Camp Darby?
I was stationed at Aviano AB twice as a DoD Civilian at The Family Services.
Actually went to Italy in Feb 2020 on vocation for a couple weeks....it was like being home again, lol.
I remember when I bought my JT back in Dec 2019 and I kept up with OME hoping they would bring out something. After about 6 months I couldn't stand any longer and bought the Mopar.
I had OME on my 2002 Taco and on my 2012 FJ and I was satisfied for my use...Louisiana...and mud.
It would be...
I also installed the JKS geometry correction brackets when I added the mopar lift, main reason was because I knew I was adding pucks up front to eliminate some of the rake. No complaints really ...other than I have a lean thats pushing my OCD button thats located in my brain housing group....
