I’ve been looking into Sandhills Nature Preserve. It’s a state park near Fayetteville. I think it’s mostly gravel/dirt roads. Might make an interesting day trip.
Looking to upgrade to an ARB Dual Compressor? Let me help you with that…
Looking to buy an ARB Single Compressor. Wiring harness not not necessary. DM pics and price with shipping.
Your 1-5/8 unistrut will have to be cut out if you get the standard clamps. I have 7/8” strut mounting my Highlift and I had to shorten it for the tailgate end clamp. There are only 3 factory screws holding it now.
Sorry I don’t have a photo of the rail. I’ll get 1 when I go out today.
I don’t have a RTT, but I do have a lot of experience with multi day trips with rain. In college we did a 10 day backpacking trip where it rained for 7 days. Every other day or so we moved to a new site.
My tips are keep your clothes and sleeping bags in separate dry sacks. This will allow you...
FYI: Bestop owns Softopper now.
I love the look and quality of the Softopper - why I purchased a second one! The fabric looks like the factory soft top and for me completed the look.
We had a nice time at Mugs this morning. Had 1 other Overland Bound member there.
Planing on doing it again next month. I will post info soon once I figure out my weekend work schedule.
I did a trip from Charlotte, NC to outside Atlanta, GA. Down on Friday afternoon, camped out, drove back Saturday. 530.7 miles. About 4.5 hours in one push on the way back. Totally comfortable ride. Kind of loud with MT tires and a soft top.
I just picked up the Mopar cover from a member who never used it. It’s been in the 70’s here in Charlotte, so I installed the Mopar Bikini top and Quadratec tube doors I also picked up from him. The top fits great and goes down to the rock rails.

Setting the date for the Charlotte Area Meetup. Please post suggestions for a good coffee shop with enough parking for a few rigs and a socially distant meet & greet.
I sent an email to Gobi Racks this weekend asking if they can build a rack that fits just over the bed. Perhaps if there is enough interest from owners they would produce them.
Here is a screenshot from their website on what is available now.
I agree - it depends on what you want to do. I’ll add if you want to add exterior lights or accessories look into an Spod or Aux-Switch setup. The switches are prewired and you bring all your accessories to the added fuse block. I wanted bed power, so I ran 1 large wire to a fuse panel in the...
I’ve been thinking of getting a small trailer with a RTT and the canopy around the ladder. My son could sleep in the canopy or in the truck bed sleeper I built.
I’ve been happy off-roading with the Firestones. The white lettering didn’t stay white long with our Carolina red clay.
We used to have white wall tires mounted with the white on the inside of rim. Not sure that’s an option with MTs.
They are noisy, but I have nothing to compare them to. With...
I know it’s short notice, but my job on Saturday got canceled yesterday…
Anyone interested in meeting up to do Old Highway 105 on Saturday? My 7yo son will be with me.
It’s a gravel road that runs the west side of Linville Gorge. I want to start on the north end at Linville Falls and work back...
