lol, very true. A few jeeps ago, I was returning one to stock to trade in and I got to the point where I hoped the bolts would just snap…
Even still, I’m not willing to finish the job looking like the tin man, ha.
Went from snowboarding fresh snow on my local ski hill yesterday with my son to wrenching in my driveway today on a 60+ degree day. Gotta love Pittsburgh weather.
Threw on a Fox steering stabilizer with the Clayton relocation bracket.
It depends on the extended shock length. Same goes for the rear with brake lines. Most 2.5” lifts out of the box have modest travel and not a concern (I.e. going from 8” travel to 10”).
I found that I could run 12” Fox shocks with only 2” bumpstops but that puts you in front DS and rear...
I pulled off my JKS front Trackbar to lengthen it due to a lift increase. After a couple years, it required a vice, large pipe wrench, and a BFH to break the jam nut loose.
I have the rigid backup lights in my rear bumper and they make an incredible difference. I also click off the headlights when backing up to kill the license plate lights.
Congrats, I can’t speak for the GEO brackets but AEV tends to have some of the best instructions lift-wise. It’s pretty simple. Probably my least favorite part was the front bumpstops. I did that once and decided never again so I tapped the spring perches and used hockey pucks for ease of...
It’s not a great sign that the shop that installed the draglink flip didn’t know a raised Trackbar bracket would be required. Hope it works out for ya.
Won’t be a problem temporarily. Your downtravel will only be 1.5-2” so definitely would stick to the pavement. If the lead time for rebuild is to long, I’d buy the cheapest shock extensions you could find though.
