Santa clause brought some goodies so they got a Willys appropriate paint job in preparation for installation.

Found a gas tank skid that was just too cheap to pass up. For $58 shipped to my door, I figured what the heck. I always read instructions prior to making purchases but I couldn’t find any, so I rolled the dice. It quickly became a don’t look a gift horse in the mouth situation.

Upon reading the instructions, I found that this skid was made to work in conjunction with another skid that is discontinued… Go figure. It required mounting to a transfer case skid so I had to improvise. Ended removing the tab completely so it would tuck up as high as possible.

It was also obvious it wasnt going to clear my control arm skid plates or at minimum not allow access to the bolt so I notched the skid plate.

Though it was a little extra work and the install wasn’t quite as intended, I still feel like it’s worth $58 to have a nice long smooth skid.
