Exaclty, you and I live similar lifestyles (except no kids lol). I tow a pontoon boat twice a year, taking the boat out of the water for the winter and back in for the summer. I don’t plan on going to 37’s, so I wanted to start this thread specifically for people who are running 35’s and torn on...
After many weeks of research, people’s opinions and experiences with regearing to 4:56 and/or 4:88’s on 35’s is still unclear to me which gear would be the proper choice for best overall performance and MPG (if possible) for a daily driver.. I have a 30 minute highway commute to and from work 5...
That’s sort of what I’m running - rubi shocks and coils, with 1.5” spacer up front and 3/4 spacer in the back. I have a rubi steel bumper take off sitting in my basement that I’m waiting to install...debating on adding any more weight to my vehicle, until I decide if I’m regearing or going back...
do you have any pictures of your JT with those tires?? Do you have a lift? I’m looking to do the Mopar 2” lift, or Clayton 2.5” but I’m wondering how goofy it’ll look with 32’s.
Ah gotcha. Do you think a steel front bumper and a full size spare and wheel would warrant enough weight for 4:88?I was looking at 4:56’s first, then read that 4:88’s for 35’s were better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
you nailed it with tire size Jeep life crisis. I might have a hard time selling my tires and wheels, which cost me about $2500. So if I regear that’ll be $2300, and if I can’t sell my tires and wheels I’m out $2500. So either way I’m losing money, with that said I’ll probably regear lol.
Thanks everyone for the info.
I’m really torn on dropping down to 33’s and not regearing to 4:88’s and selling my 35’s. I want my performance back. If I were to regear, would 4:88’s make a night and day difference and get me close to stock performance? Option A: would save me about $1,300...
So I’ve been shopping around for pricing on a regear. I called some local off-road shops that quoted me at $2300 OTD for parts and labor…I called my dealer for a quote and the technician said he’d have to call me back because he didn’t think I could regear because my differential is too small...
Followed and subscribed!!
Working in healthcare doesn't give me time to do much, but when I do have time I love camping, hiking, kayaking and lake life!
The Dueller H/T? Yea those are going in the trash lol. Those 35’s are my winter tires. I’ll be doing rubicon take off 33’s as my summer tire. More than likely i’ll try to sell my OEM wheels.
Let me know how you like the 35’s. I calibrated my speedo with the tazer at 34.53 and it’s perfectLy matched. I took a significant hit on MPG, and at 70mph i tend to sit at 2100 rpm’s, noticeable hum, but not terribly annoying. I think I’m going to pick up some 33“ rubicon take off’s for my...
