So I finally got around to add the 3rd shock over the rear axle on my 2021 Overland Diesel and I was surprised to find there was no upper frame mount ☹. I guess I will further suffer wheel hop in the sand...... If anyone is looking for a kit I have a like new one for sale.
As stated above the size of the gap between lugs and the size of the lug drives the slapping noise. New tires typically have sipping on the first 1/8" or so of tread so and that further quiets the noise.
I just installed some lightly used cooper at3 4s load c and they are better but not as...
Here is my quick story of my 2021 Diesel Overland.
0-5000 miles stock overland Bridgestone HT 255/70/R18 ----No Issues
5000-15,000 miles Rubicon take offs 285/75R17 ------No Issues
15,000 -15,001 (lol) I put used (35K) tires off a Sahara on that were the same Bridgestone HT 255/70R18 as...
I am really curious about those Bronco take off tires you were running. There is zero info on them. How did they ride? Harshness? noise?..... I hear the Michelin LTX MS are hands down the most comfortable tire available and I was going to get them (265/70/R18 32.5x10.8) but I keep seeing the...
You may be right and I would not be surprised if Curt or Tekonsha is making the guts of the Mopar. I have not used the mopar one so I am not sure of its operation and if it has inertia sensing (does it?). I worked as tier 1 supplier for Jeep for 8 years and see the cost/feature cut on almost...
Just another opinion here.
RedArc or Curt probably have better technology over the stock one. The accelerometers in the dash mount redarc and curt probably work the best. The Eco mounts(or dangles) to the 7-way plug and to me seems unsafe to have the weight supported by the plug.
I recently found that my "baby it" driving habit has been hurting my MPG. I switched to an more aggressive acceleration and my MPG improved by as much as 2 MPG.
Here is my comparison.
"Baby it" driving method I would accelerate to 55 mph and I would take 1/2 mile to get up to speed. I would...
I have done what you did. Started with Overland diesel stock setup and added used Rubicon shocks. I also added a 1" spacer lift up front to level it out.
I found that the Rubicon shocks did not handle road conditions any better and off road they seemed too soft. I would bottom out in...
If you will park it in a garage....... +1
If you will drive at least 20 minutes of highway speeds a week or more ........ +1
If you have already owned a jeep and know that tops leak .....+ 1
If you are already knowledgeable if diesels and their added cost ..... +1
If you have a backup car to...
You named all the important reason for sticking with the gasser. IMO stick with the gas. You are in a hot climate which is potential for the ecodiesel to derate, you value simple reliability which the diesel is more complex and with more things to break, and the short runs of daily driving can...
The rear main seal is on the crank and that black thing is only a cover and only keep dust out. I dont thing you getting high centered had anything to do with it.
Ill 2nd the clutch failing but that trans is very weak also. Plenty of threads on the manual trans that people say sound like someone dropped marbles in it. The auto trans is good for like 700+ftlb and the manul 400 ish if I remember their ratings.
