  1. Oil Change - What lube, and should I have Jeep do it?

I first learned about it when I bought my trackhawk, but my dealer won't drain the oil cooler as part of the service. I also don't want one of their wrench monkeys messing it up, so I haven't opted to use the service. Specific to your questions, it gets you 2 oil changes and tire rotations per...

  3. Oil Change - What lube, and should I have Jeep do it?

    1. I don't believe 0W-20 comes in anything but synthetic. 2. I'm sure there are shady dealers who use crap oil so there is no guarantee unless you provide it yourself. 3. Keeping your receipts should be enough. That said, in the last couple manuals I've read, it explicitly stated that your...
  4. Front Camera

Just took enough apart to learn that if it's made available as an accessory, we will be running wires/cables along with the washer fluid line. There is no connector for it anywhere close to the mounting location. Unless they have it tied to another part of the harness down the line, we will be...
  5. Front Camera

Thanks for the detailed pics. We already know we need a wire connector and a washer fluid line and it appears we will also need a grill insert as it looks like it is molded into the grill. Just need a part number for the kit now.
  6. Rokblokz Installed

Just got my Rokblokz in the mail. Had to get something to protect the rear fenders, rear hinges and rear door openings from getting chewed up by rocks. They look like quality parts and install was easy. I did install them differently than the instructions to give them some more support...
  7. Trail mishap

At least we have a written description now. That mystery was really screwing up my week. Haha
  8. A work around for the Steel Bumper issue

Your post just reminded me that the parts guy is who creates the invoice so that makes perfect sense. I will follow up when I get pricing on all the parts for anyone interested.
  9. Key FOBissue, and its not the size

Turns out both keys are the same. I took it apart and it's likely a design flaw. The two tabs that hold the case halves together nearest that corner are likely too long to make them snap together without a gap. All of the hooks/tabs are intact. I'm not sure how bad that is for water resistance...
  10. Key FOBissue, and its not the size

The one I have in hand right now is the same way. Something definitely isn't right. That whole corner is not snapping in correctly. This will undoubtedly affect it's water resistance.
  11. A work around for the Steel Bumper issue

Thanks Dan. I plan on wheeling it regularly and due to winch plate fitment, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get the factory one. That said, who do you give the discount code to? The parts guys when ordering or the cashier? Thanks again.
  12. PSA: Wait 10 Seconds After Insertion Before Pumping

I swear this is about refueling and not what you think. Haha. I was getting gas this afternoon and finally paid attention to the little drawing on the back of the gas door. I have not been waiting and have had no troubles. I've heard of some guys in the trackhawk forums having trouble filling...
  13. A work around for the Steel Bumper issue

I did a little digging and found a good pic of the skid and how it differs. I think the reason they have the different skid is to make room for the winch plate. Found this thread: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/rubicon-steel-bumper-extra-parts.16508/ I'm going to price the...
  14. More Dog Friendly

Sounds like you are going all out. Your dog will sure appreciate it, as will you. The second biggest thing I notice next to room for the pups is overall storage. The locking underseat rear storage is a good option for most, but doesn't work with the dogs. Haven't found any front undersest...
  15. A work around for the Steel Bumper issue

Thanks. Looks like I need to take a closer look at one with that bumper from the factory. I still really want the factory setup but it's getting more expensive the further I look into it.
  16. A work around for the Steel Bumper issue

Hey bud, can you maybe help clarify the skid deal. I have a skid directly behind my factory plastic rubicon bumper. I believe that is for the sway bar disconnect setup. Is there an additional skid needed with the steel bumper?
  17. More Dog Friendly

I'm still working on the door protectors. Unless you want to rely on a bunch of sticky back velcro for the whole panel, you will need something custom made or to modify an existing cover. The ones I picked will be a good candidate for modification yet will still need a few pieces of sticky...
  18. More Dog Friendly

When you say making a seat delete, are they making some kind of panel or something to smooth the area where the seat was? I have seriously considered pulling the rear seats to gain room as they will be used very, very rarely. I didn't think I would need anything to replace them but I would be...
  19. A work around for the Steel Bumper issue

I'll probably be doing just that. We picked up a dealer order since ours fell through and it had the standard bumper. I realize I could go aftermarket and likely for cheaper, but I like the way the factory steel bumper looks.
  20. More Dog Friendly

I will link the protectors when I get them and try them out. I took a long time picking them. Just like the hammocks, there are a bunch of options and I think I picked what should work best for our rigs, but I have to be sure they are worth it before recommending them. I did find something...
