  1. Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

I hate to be the guy to make anything mandatory, but for my rig, a fire extinguisher is always mandatory. I've seen too many dollars go up in flames on the trails or at the track to not make that a priority. That's not to mention the potential for injury/death if someone were trapped. I...
  2. Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

I may go by ColdSRT on here, but in real life, I go by Smokey The Motherf***ing Bear! Haha.
  3. Fire Extinguisher Mounting Location

Where are you guys planning on putting your fire extinguishers? Pretty easy in the JK/JL, but the options are far more limited on the JT. I sat in the back for a bit to figure a location and the only places that look like they will work are on the forward part of the roll bar right next to the...
  4. Project WildHeart - OUR JT BUILD

Looks good. Hopefully you can make it at least a couple hundred feet further up the trail without dragging the belly and tail.
  5. Rubicon w/ 35’s.

Just for shits and giggles, I wonder what the dealer wants for the tire upgrade if you keep the 33s? Just to pile on, the dealer is giving it to you with no lube on that tire deal. Hope you can arrange a better deal and come out happy with your choice. PS- keep those pics of 35s coming!
  6. Key FOBissue, and its not the size

Overall, I like them. Like I said earlier, they are not as polished as factory but are finished well. There is one spot on the bottom where the plastic was injected but that's where a key ring goes if you choose to use one. Barely noticable though and is being extra nitpicky. I think they will...

Here you go...https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/online-store/Wrangler-JL-c34349008 There's a 20% off sale going right now so get your order in tonight to take advantage. Regular price isn't a dealbreaker either way.
  8. Key FOBissue, and its not the size

No waiting for JeepCares over here...
  9. Why I like Craigslist...

I love Alaska, but sometimes I wish I was in a more populated area so I had more Craigslist options. Trying to score the 3 piece s tut eel bumper. Way to go.
  10. More Dog Friendly

I'm also interested in underseat storage for the front. The gladiator needs all the help it can get with storage. Surprised there's nothing out for the JL yet, that I can find.
  11. Key FOBissue, and its not the size

Looks like there is enough clearance there but maybe not. I think all the hooks/clips are snapping in on mine. Perhaps the part you circled is in the way just enough to keep it from seating properly. It would take some material removal to get it right as it took a significant amount of pressure...
  12. Front Camera

We use washer fluid up here that's rated for really cold temps. I have had zero issues with anything washer related except for in our 2010 Rubicon. That camera being right out front and taking the brunt of possible -65f plus the windchill from vehicle speed could be a death sentence for the...
  13. Front Camera

I think the factory way, if it's made available, will be the best setup but also likely the most expensive. I may look aftermarket as well but don't want another screen or attachment to deal with so I would likely go with the option that interfaces with the uconnect. I agree on the washer...

Looks great guys. Smart trick with the candy. The directions called for attaching two of the clips to the flap itself. In my opinion, that leaves two of the three fasteners supported by the thin fender liner and leaves out the support from the thick bracket behind them. I attached those two...
  15. Key FOBissue, and its not the size

It already has a large notch to aid in cover removal. It does not look intentional to me at all. Not sure how bad it affects the water resistance but that is terrible fit and finish for such a high dollar fob. There's a bunch of different ways they could have accomplished making the battery...
  16. I'm getting old.

Yup. Proportionally, they don't look big at all. These modern trucks have a way of making 20s look small. Even the overall wheel/tire combo looks small on that particular truck. Bigger, more aggressive tires would look nice on that and it has plenty of power to turn them.
  17. I'm getting old.

Believe it or not, I've heard the subject of 17s on the WK1 and WK2 SRTs more than a handful of times. The question is usually approached from a racing or winter setup standpoint. If it weren't for the size of the brakes, it would have already happened.
  18. I'm getting old.

It's funny that years ago, I thought 20s looked silly on anything. Over the years, more and more factory trucks and SUVs came with them as standard equipment. Fast forward to now and I think most trucks look ok with them due to proportions. I wouldn't have less or more than a 20 on any of my...
  19. Key FOBissue, and its not the size

I can tell by the pics and videos that the aftermarket fobs aren't quite as polished as the factory, but they will actually seal and don't rely on plastic tabs. They seem to get pretty good reviews from what I can tell.

Even with stock wheels and tires, the flaps don't give full tire coverage. From what I've seen on the JL forums and in experience with other flaps, these will do enough to keep most of the crap off the body. The XLs will be a hair better but I don't like them hanging out either.
