Curved hat brim here too :), but the only reason I'd prefer 17's over the 18's on my overland is due to tire selection. I'm finding I'm way more limited on larger size options. Therefore I'm looking to find some Rubi take-offs to get 17's and an instant agressive look.
This is my '19 F 350 ( YES I know it looks exactly like my '17, EXCEPT the wheels which are OEM 18's with OEM tires. Depending upon which options you chose you either get the 18 or the 20's in the King Ranch trim.

Took me a while but I've found a nice chrome rim in a 17. Now to find it in 5x5. It never ends...

I vote for toys as the cause. Your era of toy determines your type of truck. That and what's available. And what you can afford. And your priorities. But mainly toys:

Professor: “Now class, you’ll see there’s a direct correlation with brim straightness and wheel size...the X-axis represents brims ranging from standard curved to straight-ass douche hat here, whereas the Y-axis represents wheel size increasing from normal to absurd. As the brim decreases in curve, the wheel size increases!”

@ColdSRT - as you’re aware, SRTs/Trackhawks come stock with 20’s...I doubt anyone’s suggesting to roll some 285/65/17s on them ;)
Believe it or not, I've heard the subject of 17s on the WK1 and WK2 SRTs more than a handful of times. The question is usually approached from a racing or winter setup standpoint. If it weren't for the size of the brakes, it would have already happened.

These are 20's OEM w OEM tires

Yup. Proportionally, they don't look big at all. These modern trucks have a way of making 20s look small. Even the overall wheel/tire combo looks small on that particular truck. Bigger, more aggressive tires would look nice on that and it has plenty of power to turn them.

@Dallas91 - You are not that old. @Ole Cowboy is ancient, I only tolerate him and let all the stuff he says slide by cuz he is hella old and is a nonagenarian hehehe :giggle:
Ohhh man, you got me, yes, I was the Jeep Driver for the 3 Wise Men. But @Dallas91 well he was not old enough to drive but he was a Road Guard for us...

I agree smaller wheel, bigger side wall. If I get a gladiator, it will more than likely ride on 255/80/17s.
