Having done this myself back in the spring ... one potential "gotcha" is the auto-temp sensor.
Installing the controls is easy enough but needs a tazer to enable. It's very likely you are missing the wiring to connect the auto-temp sensor and sun sensor to the BCM and you'll need to...
It's pretty easy. Jack the jeep up high enough, put stands under the frame, remove the wheels, unbolt the shocks and sway bar links ... drop the axle so the springs droop enough to remove them, insert the new ones and bolt everything back up . If you can't drop the axle enough then...
For all the AEV fans ... they make a set of HD springs for the JT so if you are carrying lots of overland gear they are an easy upgrade. Very stout... I swapped a set in recently and netted about 2" more in the back when unloaded. Definitely need to get some weight in there and see how it...
There are two different hitch possibilities. There is a Class 3 hitch that bolts onto the existing rear cross member and then the Class 4 hitch that IS the rear cross member. I believe the max-tow and anything with the "Trailer-tow" package is the Class 4.
Obviously the little guy is...
For what's its worth, I have the same problem .... left and right are reversed. Thought about crawling around underneath and seeing if there is an easy way to reverse the harness .
I'll echo what every else has said.... figure out what else you might do with the interiors out but definitely just remove the front seats. So much easier with them out. The rear cargo basket under the seats comes out with a couple nuts so taking that out as well makes sense.
In my case I...
OEM is the cleanest but assumes you have the correct wiring (you may not have the wires for the DRL) but you do need to reprogram the Jeep to know it has LEDs.
Aftermarket has lots of options of course. Just make note of 9" (JL) lights vs 7" (JK) lights with adapter rings.
I have the...
I hooked up a MagCode magnetic connector with a Battery Tender charger. Simple low amperage fuse (5A). Small hole in the plastic cowl and it looks pretty clean and cheap enough to replace if I had to.
I have the full Artec Aluminum setup on my JT. Went with Aluminum because the full setup is only 10lbs more than the stock pieces you remove.
Don't have a decent shot from underneath, with my lift and tires I could install without any jack stands.... Install was pretty straightforward...
My wife runs the Ridge Grapplers on her JLRU .. she loves them both on and. off the road.
One thing that may or may not matter ... K02s are truly winter rated, they have the snowflake/mountain symbol on them. The Ridge Grapplers are not. Likely only matters if you live somewhere that...
I do like that Road Armor one.. especially with the option for the winch.
I'm a fan of my LOD Destroyer with the optional bed sliders and the frame tie ins.
(https://lodoffroad.com/category/jt-gladiator-destroyer-rear-bumper). It works with the "max-tow" trailer hitch but not the "add on"...
I think it basically comes down to "do you want a truck" or not. Personally, I like the flexibility of having the truck bed although others (the JLU crowd) prefer the extra internal space of the Wrangler.
I've owned a H3, Frontier and a Taco along with a couple variations of the JKU and...
I believe its "AD6"
What he's looking for is the sales code that will tell the computer he has LEDs not Halogen and adjust the current and feedback accordingly. Most of us just use a Tazer or JSCAN etc.. to ast the lights based on which ones we've replaced.
Depends somewhat on the model you have I believe. You probably need to replace the wiring harness inside the door so it has the pigtail needed to plug into the ends of the handles. I didn't but I had already replaced the full harnesses when I did the locks.
Several places sell the full...
Sorry DarkHorse... I tried to figure it out but haven't had the time to dig through all the menus. Its should be under the Radio Frequency module. There are options in there to scan for FOBs and then look for the locations. I was using OLFA mostly during my work.
My understanding is you would have to run individual wires back from the door to the BCM and insert the pins as needed. Replacing the entire dash body harness would be a massive job. I did the wire/pin routine on a JK years ago but thankfully didn't have to figure it out this time.
What...
Sorry about that ... I swapped a new 8.4" into my Sport ... I don't have those two lights on .. wonder if its because my unit never had those two features activated.
