I added 101 lb to the front of my Mojave with an Arcus bumper and 12k winch in place of the stock plastic bumper. AT the front fender tips, it sits 3/8 inch lower. Take a look at the Rock Hard rock sliders which also serve as steps if you put anti-skid tape on the outer tube. I got angled up...
Falken sells the same model Wildpeaks in shorter sizes and they are just as capable traction-wise. 245-75-17 and 245-70-17 are 1.3 and 2.2 inches less diameter, for instance.
I too wanted the cold weather group and the auxiliary switches. In my area, getting one off the lot meant getting some other stuff that I did not care about like the body colored fenders.
I have the oem led fog lights in my Arcus and they fit perfectly with no adapter. I have the Mojave and its skid plate fits with over an inch clearance to the bumper.
I prefer the winch to be mounted lower and not impede airflow to the grille. The stubby version weighs 104 lb. and the full width, 128 lb. That is a lot of weight, for a bumper only, to put on the front end. For comparison, I am running the Rugged Ridge Arcus with 12k Harbor Freight winch...
there are several videos on the job, including one by motor city mechanic. Perhaps the best way to prevent the problem is not to gorilla tighten the oil filter cap. Beyond that and cracks in the housing, the o-ring seals on the bottom of the housing to the engine block can fail.
I had a hard cover on my 2020 from Tyger. This time I got an inexpensive amazon soft cover which is half the weight (30 vs, 60 lb) and thus easier to manipulate. I agree it is somewhat less secure than a hard cover. I try not to park in risky areas--we will see if it lasts.
The RH sliders are very strong and would be limited only by the strength of the mounting points, namely the pinch welds, bottom of the tub, and body mount areas. I haven't lifted my JT up by them but I do use them for backup jack stands in case the floor jack were to fail. During frame-off...
I had a 2020 max tow and it did most of what I wanted. However, if you go to big tires, etc. its effective tow rating goes down. I did have occasional use for a rear locker, and the better suspension of the Mojave helps on roads and on dirt, especially. I am happy with the new Mojave that I...
As above, lowering tire pressure and choosing tires carefully help. If it is the rear that is too stiff, you can try adding weight. A hard tonneau cover and a piece of 1-1/8" flooring plywood would help.
Years ago my Ram hit a huge rock in the trail at very low speed. I was going along a wash with brush in the middle so the mostly underground boulder was hidden. I had a 3/16" skid/deflector that I had fabricated on the front diff, and it was pushed to the cover. The engine stalled. After...
