You're right. Supposedly, N/A motors lose something like 3% power for every 1000 feet of elevation over sea level. ie. @10k elevation they're roughly 30% less powerful than at sea-level. This is the biggest advantage of turbo/super-chargers. Elevation affects them much less.
Replace those little cheap plastic windshield visor supports with the good aluminum ones available either on ebay or Amazon, before the stock plastic hangers break.
Seal your rear window with 7mm silicone tubing (search the forums here) if it leaks.

I was very happy with mine when it arrived. Was a 10-15 minute plug & play, and it's worked perfectly for ~30k miles now.
Mine looked NOTHING like that! Mine at least appeared to be very well made. Good connections, with everything well taped up. Super easy plug & play. Maybe yours was made by someone else?
