  1. Weight FYI

Dumb luck for me on payload. Didn't think too much about it because I mostly wanted a manual. But the manual JTR seems to do pretty well with a #1249 payload rating. I swapped the rock sliders out for tubular side steps. Those sliders are heavy steel. I think both tubes weigh less than a...
  2. Weight FYI

Got my eye on one of those as well. Seems like a perfect fit.
  3. Ass end higher than front end after lift?!

I was jokingly referring to the Fugazi sticker on the car behind it! Great band!
  4. Ass end higher than front end after lift?!

    Man, that truck is Fugazi!
  5. We need to talk about the “Jeep Wave”

Waves increase the farther you get out of the city. People are having fun and feeling good. But even in the city, Gladiators tend to wave at Gladiators.
  6. 2021 Gladiator Rubicon MPG

That does sound rough. I would expect a loss with a stubby bumper, but it must also be struggling with the lift and big tires. Sort of like creating a parachute. And calibration must be off. I'd do some drive-and-fill mileage math to check. Here is my bone-stock Manual JTR . Long trip, two...
  7. Super mega gladiator meetup

Easy for me. I don't even have to make any turns! Some well-spent youth in Zion. I love it out there and haven't been back in years.
  8. Super mega gladiator meetup

I am in San Diego, CA I will drive a full day/500 miles plus or minus in any combination of north and East on 90 days notice. Could be convinced to go further. My first Jeep. No meaningful off road experience but interested. Enjoy camping and lately overlanding looks like fun.
  9. Only disappointment with our Gladiator.

I thought this was set up to be the "Son of The Last Jeep I'll Ever Own" thread!
  10. Anza Borrego, Blair Valley,Diablo Drop Off, Fish Creek

I'm in North County and am just re-rediscovering AB. I spent a day last weekend doing the trails and hikes in Blair Valley. Managed to be alone at dusk and lose the hiking trail down Ghost Mountain from Marshal South house. Thought I might be spending the night out there! Thinking about Mud...
  11. Anza Borrego, Blair Valley,Diablo Drop Off, Fish Creek

I am guessing that 5th picture is the dropoff. The Chiweenie recovery team is one of the funniest things I have seen in a while!
  12. Any ideas for Anza Borrego?

Please do. Thinking of heading out to Blair Valley next weekend but this looks like a good idea.
  13. Nobody waves anymore.

It depends where I am at. In the city, not so much. On the road or off it, all the time.
  14. Camping! The joys!

I stick to the basics. A cooler of beer and canned beans. Tents, sleeping bags, dry goods and a Dutch oven. Although I am tempted to get a bed rack and RTT now that I have seen a few.
  15. Your “Other Vehicles” and passions

The infamous "banana" shipping guards. Meant to protect the front splitters during shipping. Dealers are supposed to remove them before delivery, but they don't and they got to be popular. There are whole websites and Facebook groups devoted to hating these. And people sell them on ebay for...
  16. First timer looking into on onbard air

I got that kit off Amazon and I did remove the engine cover. Mounted that on my garage wall so I still get to see it. I did have to slightly modify the mounting plate to fit it to the engine cover bracket. Otherwise, this has been a good option for me. It stays clean and it is convenient. I...
