Many people have thoughts on Harbor Freight but almost everyone will agree their winches are some of the best in the business especially at their price point.
Got the 35's on yesterday using the Badlands jack I got last Fall. Straight from Winters this year since I got them for free. Always an adapting phase for the first couple days.
I have a set of smaller Wranglers for the off season here in Colorado and put the 35's on once the season begins. In Colorado we have a long off season so it makes sense to protect the 35's for long periods of time. Plus fuel mileage is a lot better.
Been working on replacing our fence. First picture was picking up the new post (Trex), then had to use the winch for real to get a good chunk of concrete out of a hole. And while I don't have a picture, loaded 800 pounds of concrete in the bed. Not sure if that or post were heavier but no issues...
The computer will adjust over time to new shift points based on how you're driving. It can take some driving to adjust though in my experience should take less then an hour or less then 50 miles. Mileage will quite literally vary.
No problems with a soft top. Depending on how dirty it is there is a dealer that has a public one with brushes that I actually trust since they run their new cars through it. Used it use it all the time until they jacked up their prices. (Was $10 for the "best" one now it's like $15-17.)
If you can hold off long enough starting the last weekend of October is when it gets quiet going into November. Snow is highly unlikely though if you are coming from the east through Colorado all bets are off there. We've done it the past two years now and it's been perfect weather and tourist...
