I would check your state laws for placement with the Warn style since the plate is slanted back, but I've been running one this way on my '05 Wrangler in Montana snow & ice + sanded roads without debris/damage issue. No wear & tear or build up of ice. Brush hasn't been an issue either because...
My wife and I are fans of the Cleanwaste toilet and their wag bags. It's very flexible, you can use it with a hole or use the bags. The bag kits eliminate smells in any garbage your packing, surprisingly so, includes some clotting, deodorizing powder, TP, hand wipes, and double bag, I would...
I also used the one from the Warn winch plate, but added wing nuts so I can remove the plate for harder terrain, but probably won't ever need to. My Wrangler has it mounted in a similar position with a bracket from JCR and I haven't caught it on anything in 7-8 years.
This is great!
However, I wouldn't trust the wire colors in the diagrams for anything behind the cab. Get a multi-meter and test the wires first. At least the signal/brake lights are not the same. Not sure what the correct one is, but the green-white-green wire doesn't do brakes or signal when...
I'm not sure this will work for a brake only light vs a turn-signal+brake light. I couldn't see a specific brake only wire for the 7 or 4 pin harness except for the electric brake control. Seems you would get the flashing center brake for left or right turning if you wired into the signal wires...
This just helped us tremendously wiring up our OVRLND 3rd brake light to the tailgate brake light. The JL wiring diagram that's on the forum actually threw us off, the brake light wire colors seem to be different than the JT.
Yeah, I would recommend trying to tape the upper spring cup/plastic piece in place before dropping your axle, if the tab comes out it can be fiddly to get back in.
The other thing I would recommend if you haven't messed with your suspension before (like me) is look at the install directions for...
I would've gone for either a classic Gladiator grill or the current JL one. Although I've wanted a Wrangler truck mainly because AEV was rolling out Brutes, not for nostalgia around Gladiators, could care less they labeled it a Gladiator. Now if Ford released a F150 with a retro homage to my...
Didn't think to take photos until the wheels were back on, but added Daystar 3/4" coil spacers to the rear of the JTR. Correcting for the additional static load on back with my OVRLND topper and the squishy Rubi suspension.
The only surprise was the first time putting my Gladiator's wheels on...
That's great to hear, I'm in Bozeman and have had 70% good experience with our local Jeep dealer over the years. Mostly okay, sometimes not. Good to have a close fall back.
That's wild, I just undid my OEM end links today on my JTR and the orientation was exactly like Figure 9, bolt head on the outside of the frame, nut on the inside...
How does the Icon lift compare on/off road to the stock Rubicon ride? Which stage did you go with? I loved my Icon lift on my Taco and am considering a Stage 2 or 3 on the JTR...
I was surprised the JTR didn't have a combo LSD/locker like my '05 LJR. That '05 is great in the winter and has been better in both on and off-road snow conditions than a "modern" Taco or F150.
That being said, I got the JTR with the Auto-4wd and it has performed surprisingly well on snow/ice...
Thanks for this! Excellently done video with really great details (and humor :)). This is going to help a bunch when I start cutting on my hood this week for my AEV snorkel.
A little late for the OP, but for others wanting to fix the "bikes blocking the lights" issue a simple fix you can just use cargo box LED lights if you have the trailer package on your vehicle with the plugs. I've been using the ROLA 59516 LED Light Kit for ROLA Railed Cargo Carrier for about 6...
I've been using a portable Smittybilt for several years and it's been great. Especially nice on the budget to switch between 2 vehicles. I recently added an ARB single under the hood of my '05 Wrangler to free up space and now just use the portable in the JTR. If I did onboard air for the JTR...
I would say it would be medium difficult. It is only clamped on and is using rubber seals along the bed rails and tailgate (glued to the cap, not the truck), so about the same level as removing a typical fiberglass truck cap. The main challenge would be having a hoist that could support the bit...
Nice, he won't notice it at all on a 2500, and whatever bed size he has that thing is going to be palatial inside. I can't believe how big it made my 5' bed feel, even just for hauling.
Apparently mine is only the 2nd Gladiator they did, you can check out OVRLND's instagram to see it on a more "built" rig too. Loving it, definitely beats the minimalist climbing shelter I used on the way to Flagstaff :)
