I'll be installing my sliders soon so thanks for the tip of the heat gun to help break them free. Did you use an impact to break them free initially or just to spin it to get it off the plastic fastener?
Mine isn't affected by the recall, but when I went to AutoNation on Broadway for my steering the first thing they asked me was if that's why I was there.
That being said, they also thought my Rubicon was lifted and wanted to charge me for an alignment. Told them to double check their info and...
I have friends with a couple other brands and they all seem fairly similar so I'm not surprised to hear Forest River is treating you well. I remember looking at them when we were shopping.
Thanks everyone! I have no idea where it was made, but it's been great so far (maybe a dozen trips, not...
They definitely made different design choices. With JCR mounting between the rail and the bed (at least that's my understanding of how they mount) you gain more freedom with tie downs. With BRI mounting to the rail the geometry of the rails is maintained. A tradeoff for sure, I went with BRI as...

I get the value, but for me and the limited driving I do in the Jeep, the cost/benefit analysis resulted in me keeping the $400 - $500 the spare tire and wheel would've cost so I can use that money elsewhere. If I drove it more, I'd probably go with the five tire rotation.
