Maybe just keep the spare wheel that comes with it? If you're not rotating in the spare, you'll only use it in emergencies so as long as your tire fits on it, things like backspacing doesn't really matter.
When I took mine into the dealer, they asked me how I was going to pay for the alignment since the jeep had been lifted. I had to educate them that it was stock and that's how Rubicons are built.
With this being a new vehicle I think we just have to get used to needing to explain a few things...
Located in the Denver metro area, take-offs from a 2020 Gladiator with only 480 miles.
(4) Rubicon rims with Falken Wildpeak MT's, 285/70R17, no TPMS.
(1) Spare tire, same brand and size, zero miles but without the rim.
$1200/obo, no shipping
I've also noticed it's not very good for small incremental changes. The way it works is you turn it on and then when it senses a pressure change (up or down) in a tire it will become active and the horn will blow as needed when your preset is met. Well, if you're just going up/down a few PSI...
I had the dealer do an alignment this morning. Steering wheel is closer to center, although not exact. Someone not as anal retentive as me probably wouldn't notice. Interestingly, after the alignment the printout shows my total toe is now 27°. After I got home I broke out the tape measure and...
Definitely helps here, sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing with the off-center steering wheel and drifting (not the good kind of drifting :)). Trying to line up an alignment and re-torque and see if that takes care of it.
Not sure a soft top would work for me but I'll keep an eye on it. I keep hearing ARE and Leer are "working on it", but I'm just surprised they are all so far behind that they didn't even have a prototype to show at SEMA.
First decent looking top to come out that doesn't break the...
Just an opinion from some guy on the internet, but with that wheel I'd go with the black. I like gunmetal, just not with the polished edge like that. It's your build, though!
Unless I'm missing it, not a single physical prototype or design is being shown at Sema for the Gladiator. Are the main players (Leer, ARE, etc.) even at the show? It would be great to hear directly from them, if possible. @JAY
I'm keeping the steel spare and will find a used 35/r17 tire to throw on it. If I get a flat, that will get me where I need to fix the flat and be on my way.
Not saying there's anything wrong with getting a matching spare and rotating 5, I actually pondered it myself. I just chose to spend that...
New tires and wheels. Ridge Grappler 35s on Quadratec Recon wheels in gun metal gray. No lift. Before and after pics:
Since my last post in here, I installed the front bed rack from BRI, the tonneau cover, and a ProClip phone holder. Time to wait and see what comes out from Sema and black...
Yeah, that didn't work. My link isn't saving. Go to the "2020+ Jeep (JT) Gladiator Owners" group and search for dv8. It's a red jeep. Sorry the link isn't working.
