  1. If you thought the 3.0l ecodiesel has bad design ideas watch this.

Not just an aluminum block, but one with an active cooling directing system. How long before that coolant directing valve cruds up and refuses to move like it should. I'm seeing warped Vega blocks and melted Duramax heads all over again.
  2. If you thought the 3.0l ecodiesel has bad design ideas watch this.

check out this video on the duramax 3.0l inline 6. Two chains, and a 150k mile wet belt for the oil pump in the back. "Service is easy, just back the transmission off" ROFL. High Pressure pump faces the back and is not removable without pulling either the engine or transmission. I thought...
  3. Do we know when the Ecodiesel will be released?

The earlier ecodiesel could be flashed to around 550ft/lb and an extra 3-5mpg with just the flash. As to mileage increases with a delete kit. I don't know that there really are any. Just mileage consistency since your vehicle isn't occasionally dumping diesel down the exhaust to burn off the...
  4. Diesel JT. Too much torque for D44s...

Just tossing a guess to the wind here. Jeep will probably have a detune kick in when the transfer case is in 4 low. Much like the cummins doesnt open up full torque until 3rd gear(if I remember right). Essentially limiting the extra twist 4 low has compared to the gas v6.
  5. Gladiator vs Lincoln MKS - Accident

At least the driver ended up on the roof stopping them from hitting and running like so many do anymore. Definitely demand the truck be totaled. No way even in a good shop it's ever going to drive right again. If nothing else pray that this incident teaches this goofball driver a lesson and...
  6. Does anyone know of a long range fuel tank?

I might be missing something but titan also makes tanks that fully replace the existing tank. Is that also illegal? How did old trucks with dual tanks get away with it? I'd be cool with a left right switch in a gladiator and two 22 gallon tanks.
  7. Apparently Gladiator competition is coming.... Ford Bronco Pickup

2024. Dang we are reaching into the future. At that point I might be looking for a used rivian (think I spelled that right) which should be able to spank a gladiator in pretty much every scenario except maybe refuel time and range per fill.
  8. Does anyone know of a long range fuel tank?

Just spoke with the reps at titan tanks at the Denver Jeep show today. Per him they will make one more diesel. However he stated a larger gas tank is illegal something to do with emissions. Never heard that about larger gas tanks before. Hmmmm.
  9. First Hemi Gladiator I have seen for sale

I'm with the others 39 on stock axels no bueno. Add hemi really no bueno. Why does it have 6 wheels? Good thing they put one on spare in parenthesis like that explains the still extra number 6. Also good thing it has a super duper Hhp70 trans. Must have slapped that listing up as fast as...
  10. Latest TFL diesel video

Rofl. How long will this last. Not hey did you fix any of the known issues with the last one. Oil coolers leaking coolant into oil causing bottom ends to grenade Cam sprokets supposedly slipping. (Issue or not putting a key in is easy insurance and gets all the complainers regarding this to...
  11. Ram new Diesel specs

Nothing to it. Truck sees enough back pressure and notes a Regen is needed. Truck waits for exhaust to reach operating temp and rpm and mph to be in the right range. Boom Regen started. No difference from auto with regards to stopping other than that a person could push in the clutch and let...
  12. What if: No Diesel?

I do believe that would completely remove it from my list of possibilities. Especially if they make the bone headed move to cancel the diesel and not announce at the same time that to appease the people wanting more power that the next version would be released with a hemi.
  13. Pulling a Camper

Interesting. The dakota made 35 more ft/lb of torque at ~800rpm lower than the 3.6. My dakota was also lighter than the gladiator by a couple hundred pounds and had 3.92 gears with shorter tires (29.5 vs 32.7) meaning my dakota actually had a lower final axle ratio on the ground than the...
  14. Ram Releases EcoDiesel Specs -> Transmission?!?

nice to see they lowered the ratio for reverse compared to the 2016. Still not nearly low enough IMO. Damn sure not low enough for a 12.5k pound trailer. Heck at times just backing the truck up on a steep incline required way too much throttle IMO. You know they messed up reverse ratio when...
  15. Who steps into and out of their vehicle the same way?

I have synergy grab bars in my jk. My first truck had the ripped driver seat so I learned to use a handle to literally lift myself up and swing off the seat.
  16. Ram new Diesel specs

Meh on the rebel until they get power wagon level off road functionality. Never understood why anyone was so hot for the rebel. I didn't really see any specs on it that made it much better than a bighorn equipped similarly. Now the rebel TRX when it fiiinnnnaaaaallllyyy appears. That will be...
  17. Alright, whose gladiator and what's the story?

Maximum weight with improper weight distribution and fish tailing can be a hell of a drug. Especially if the driver was new to trailers and reacted badly to the trailer fishtailing.
  18. Ram Releases EcoDiesel Specs -> Transmission?!?

I'm not sure if you just mean that will be a new trans for the gladiator or if you think it's new for the ram ecodiesel. The ram ecodiesel has always used that trans to my knowledge. My 2016 had the 8hp70. It's a stout transmission can be finicky after the dealer installs new software. It's...
  19. Pulling a Camper

Probably but I guarantee the engine will still be screaming to keep the speed limit. My jk 2 door has to be in 4th and sometimes 3rd to keep speed up the Ike unladen.
  20. Pulling a Camper

Wish I knew someone locally with a gladiator so I could tow the same trailer my 05 4.7l Club Cab 6 speed Dakota pulled so well. 6500lb and no complaints at all in that truck. I really miss it. A 3.0l gladiator could do pretty similar, but there seems to be lots of reports of the tail wagging...
