Just to clarify, when I mentioned "much stronger", I meant supporting weight and not as in stronger against corrosives. When I read it again it didn't seem quite clear enough.
Spoke with RLD Design USA. Stated the stainless steel is structural stainless steel which is part of the reason it is so much stronger (dynamic wt. max is 700 pounds). When asked specifically if it is rust "proof" there was a little hem hawing and stated that nothing is corrosive proof...
I've sent an email to inquire about the grade of stainless steel and there take on how rust proof this canopy is going to be. I'll post when I hear back.
Curious, why do you like the aluminum over stainless steel? Aluminum is slightly lighter but not as strong, more welds, and harder to repair from what i've been told. I've been debating between RLD and Alu-Cab and curious if i'm missing something. Thanks.
I posted some similar pictures on another thread but I think these pictures do a better job for the fitment of the Alu-Cab. My concern has been the fitment at the cab especially when viewed from the rear or rear diagonal. RLD Designs has a stainless steel option for the same price essentially...
I don’t understand it all myself. I am only relaying what I was told by the provider of the first pictures (that I know of) of a Gladiator specific Alu-Cab on an actual Gladiator. Not certain what their definition of final fitment means. I think I was told it is difficult to get an actual...
February/March are the promised dates. Doing final fits on the Gladiator from what I’ve been told. Alu-Cab and RLD are close in price stating in the low $3,000 and climbs from there with options.
These are the only pictures of the fit test of the Alu-Cab I could get so far for the Gladiator. I got some photos of RLD Generation2 but was requested to not share them yet. They look good.
Tom mentioned to me he may have pictures of the second generation this week. I have also been promised pictures of the Alu-cab this week. I'll post them as soon as I get them.
My friend has one and uses it to put bikes on the roof rack of his Subaru. Very handy and compact when folded. I made a mental note to get one (maybe not purple) and this is the reminder.
I didn't have the time or more realistically the discipline/motivation to get to the gym this morning like the OP or the driver of the red Rubi, so I am not quite ready to start today off like this. I think I'll go vaccinate some puppies and kittens and start over
Point taken on the first sentence. Nice smart ass remark on the second sentence. I don't have a handicap (that I know of) and I would have a hard time getting in and out of that truck.
Top two photos show the backlit option. The bottom two are the "spot" and "flood" .
These two pictures show the backlit feature. This one below is "spot".
I have the ROAM Vagabond RTT but still waiting on my Alu-Cab Canopy. ROAM also makes a Vagabond XL that sleeps four. Below is a link.
