Its a bad news, good news sort of thing.

1. Much assembly required, nothing is assembled like the picture, all packaged seperately. Put in tweeters.. oops no mounting screws...
So I ran usually 14-15psi. (Falken Mud Terrains) 15 or lower was better, you could probably get by with 17-18, but not in the really soft stuff.. The entrance hill is the worst IMO since that's where all the noobs go too slow, once you're in there's more space and you can get a bit of...
Its really nice. There's a good beach on Lake Michigan (which is usually a bit cold always), nice sunsets. Lots of sand and hills to explore and run. A bit crowded during Jeep Invasion, I've seen and want to go on "off" weeks, where I've heard there's usually just a handful of people.
Stock Mojave did pretty well in the sand.
Only got stuck twice, once right in the beginning going up a hill not keeping it going... second time had to stop as got cut off which made me lose momentum. Both I'd chalk up to being a noob first timer.
My wife ran it for a while in 4 Auto, Thinking...
I have it just installed, but its not working the way I think it should:
When the accessory has no power the lights stay on, which had I wired it direct to the battery instead of switched power = dead battery. I expect when the accessory wire has no power, then it powers off and doesn't keep...
I found the ones in the passenger footwell. They are pretty much invisible in the taped bundle going across near where top of the carpet is... you have to get the stick, cheap black electrical tape off to get them.
So working on installing an upgraded sound bar, and after removing the trim on passenger side for power (sound bar has led lights that need power), I saw a connector with an orangish wire that's just double back and taped together, ie. it doesn't go anywhere. Wondering if that's somehow tied to...
Looks scary, there's nothing keeping the hooks from sliding off... meaning if it tips they will slide and boom.
Simple fix I think, get a couple of bolts/wingnuts/washers and bolt the eye of the hooks to holes in the top (like the J-Barr kit)
Nice thread. Love the CAI hate.
Seriously though I looked at the intake tube and immediately thought, damn that's small. Mopar one looks good, but not for $400+ yikes.
I will say, on other cars, I've seen CAI do produce some small gains, (Measured by MAF, MAP). More air in more boom.
I...
1. Every jeep we test drove pretty much did the same thing -- compared to my other vehicles Jeep bounces around and takes more effort to track -- different suspension setup (live front axle)
2. Everything was checked (alignment, torque, etc) by dealership
3. Fox ATS made a noticeable...
1. Fox one looks better. And matches the other Fox stuff already there... :)
2. It made a noticeable difference for me at speeds over 50mph. Under 50 couldn't tell, but get it to 75mph and tracking was noticeably better as was reducing bump steer compared to the Stock Stabilizer. I'm all...
No. They come with a Mopar Steering stabilizer stock. If you want a fox one you have to upgrade it yourself (pretty easy to do). I have the FOX ATS and it makes a nice difference on the freeway.
Isn't that the truck that loses oil on steep incline then blows the engine? But its a much nicer mall crawler so you have that...
And no more Jeep wave for you either....
Its your choice, but these repairs now are so expensive, Here's my fleet:
2011 Yukon Denali (ext warranty GMEPP Cost 2200) - Repairs Torque Converter (1800), Heated Seat (695), Transfer case seals (600), Interior heater blower motor (1200). Verdict -saved money
2013 RAM 1500 (ext warranty GWC...
Its not curves its the crevices. Between hood and fender, body and fender... and all those nooks and crannies. Even the hood isn't smooth, all kinds of areas to trap dirt.
Try going through the mud and see how much fun it is to get the mud out of those crevices -- pressure washer might help...
As others have mentioned fairly normal, alignment, tire pressure and then IMO a better steering stabilizer (yes, some will say otherwise, but it worked well for me with the Fox ATS to reduce wander and play at highway speeds).
I'll add that with the live front axle the crown of the road also...
Gets technical real fast. Who here knows what a CAN bus is? Checksums? Flash Counters? Calibration details? Sure just change your injector pulse and send it (sorry bad fast and furious reference)... Modern control systems are pretty complex, and its pretty easy to miss something and then...
lol. Being an engineer myself... the stabilizer did make a difference. I can't measure it/explain except by feel, and I am sure there's ton of math that might say otherwise, but don't forget sometimes the system has unexpected results despite the "engineers" - not everything works as...
