  1. Upcoming Competition: 2024 Tacoma design revealed all around! ?

Looks as ugly and boring as all the other Tacomas starting with the 2nd gens.
  2. Genesis batteries - lets do some math

HOLY COW! I think I developed an astigmatism and became dyslexic looking at all those graphs, spreadsheets and data points. Bless those who crunch numbers like this because it ain't me.
  3. Warn Winch Recall

WHAT?! there's a recall on the hallowed Warn winch? the zombie apocalypse must be upon us. ??
  4. Gas Prices Are Still Dropping With No Signs Of Stopping.

Lowest price of gas around here has been about 3.99 for the last couple of weeks. Down about a dollar from just a month or so ago, and $1.50-2.00 from last summer. So even if it goes up another 25c-50c, that's still better then it was.
  5. Camper buildouts - lets see them!

I look at that every time there is an update, but also feel it's very specific to AluCabs, though there are some great build ideas there. I'm interested in what folks are doing inside other campers, or even just under a shell. A lot of what I'm finding online and on youtube are in full-size...
  6. Camper buildouts - lets see them!

Let's see how you're building out the inside of your bed if you have a shell, or a pop-up! How are you utilizing that space? How did you build it out, if you did? What would you do differently? Do you run power? How did you make it fit? I have an Ovrlnd Pop-up camper and trying to figure out...
  7. Power in your camper

I’m kinda on the fence about keeping it solar and separate from the main electrics but I think running a dc/dc controller would be ok. It’s also a bit easier to setup initially.
  8. Power in your camper

Ha! I've never seen one like this. When you said battery box I was thinking more like a DIY Power Station. Which is still a possibility. Though I'm thinking more of a built in set-up. :CWL: if I went "all out", I think I'll need to move into my camper after wifey kicks me out. a battery...
  9. Power in your camper

I have a pop-up camper on my truck and trying to configure how to have power back there and wonder how others have set theirs up aside from carrying something like a LIthium cube/Jackery/Eco-flow/etc. Do you have a second battery back there? How are you storing it? What's your set-up? What...
  10. Rival News: Next-Gen 2024 Tacoma to Offer Turbo 4cyl or Hybrid Engine Only. No More V6

Before I got my JT 3 years ago, I test drove a newer Tacoma. Then they pointed out it had rear drums. I was like "my '98 Tacoma has rear drums, if I get a new truck want a "modern" vehicle." ? That was kind of a deal breaker, amongst a few other things like body styling which appears they're...
  11. 20K reasons to celebrate ShadowsPapa

I too have learned a great many things from his posts. I don't think I have 20k posts if you combined all the posts from all the forums I've been on in the last 20 years. Thanks for sharing @ShadowsPapa
  12. I Love Winter... Post Your Snow Pics ❄️ ?

Winter here usually means more rain and deeper water crossings, though that rain turns to snow the higher up you go. From this weekend’s camping trip. s
  13. 8500mi Winter Big Circle 2022 Survived in Gladiator

This is awesome! Very inspiring to get out there. Hope to see more of these. Thanks for sharing with us.
  14. Work commute cut to just 1.5 miles... Should I be concerned with constant cold tranny?

This is what I do when the weather is nice, and sometimes not so nice. I'll ride my bike or MC to work. Better for the body, and everything else - environment, wallet, stress, etc. It also helps that I have a MUT basically from my door to my work, so I don't even have to deal with cars or traffic.
  15. Work commute cut to just 1.5 miles... Should I be concerned with constant cold tranny?

I work literally 2 miles from home and it takes 5 minutes if I drive. In almost 3 years of ownership, I haven't had an issue. That said, I do drive it around for errands and such in the evenings and weekends. And the occasional trip out to the coast or next town over about once a month. But in 3...
  16. SiriusXM RADIO (Yes Please), but SiriusXM GUARDIAN....... thoughts?

I've found it useful. Several times I've forgotten, or at least I think I've forgotten, to lock my doors and not near the vehicle. I also use the Sirius Travel Link and Travel Plus all the time when on a trip to find the cheapest gas in a new town, or when a rest stop is coming up. The radio is...
  17. Does a inch make a difference?

So girth and not length is what's going to matter. :CWL:
  18. Another one bites the dust….

I was hit back in May and the guy had cheap, state minimum coverage. I got some pushback from his insurance, so I had mine take over and handle the rest. They pretty much milked his insurance, got my truck fixed with an axle upgrade, and it all worked out. Glad it wasn't worse. At least your...
  19. Is the going rate for 37's really this much?!

yeah, it's not just buying a new set of tires once you go past 35. Marginal gains vs cost going to 37 IMO, at least for where I go. I found a set of 5 Nitto TGs, 35x12.5 with about 100 miles on them on CL for $1000. No brainer at that point.
