How well does it work? one the only features on the mini that the others don't have that I think could be useful. I'll have a camper on the bed, so my rear view mirror will be pretty much useless. It's just kinda pricey. and the only other feature I really need is to recalibrate getting larger...
I’ve got both my HAM and GMRS licenses and will probably go with a mobile GMRS unit. Just seems to be more accessible for others than trying to get a HAM license, and GMRS works with folks with FRS units. I also have a UV-5R for trips where HAM is used. Also the GMRS license covers the whole...
I'm in Santa Rosa and wouldn't mind checking out Knoxville and Cow Mountain. I've been doing a lot of exploring up in Mendocino NF and Snow Mountain NM.
2.5 years, 27K miles, DD, exploration vehicle, no mechanical issues, did have an electrical gremlin (bad relay to fuse box that kept frying the fuse panel) that was fixed under warranty in the first 6-8 months, nary a problem since. Getting a pop-up camper for the bed in the next month, so...
This video was very helpful. When you remove the fender, is there anything to unclip that powers the lights? It just looked like he pulled it off after unbolting it.
On a related note. How are you routing your cables through the engine bay to the battery? Mine looks like a mess. I have it coming up inside the finder Linder and headlight, then wrapping around the air intake, but it's a very convoluted route. Plus I also have front KC lights going the same way...
I was thinking of something like this recently. Instead of reconfiguring the engine bay with another battery, why not just add a second battery in the bed? I'm getting a pop-up camper, so it wouldn't be out in the open. I just don't know how this would be set-up with keeping the aux battery. I...
Aux 1 for winch solenoid
Aux 2 for KC Apollo Pros on front bumper.
Once I get my camper, I'll probably have Aux 3 for amber chase lights.
That's it so far.
I don't know of any that are pre-made and ready to go, unless it's a cancellation. Most are "custom" depending on the size of the bed.
Here's a thread with a pretty extensive list of companies that make campers for the gladiator. And if they're wedge, or pop-up...
I made my own Speedflate for about $100. I also use a Smittybilt 2781 that I’ve setup with Anderson connectors and also have lines running from the battery out so I don’t have to pop the hood every time I use it.
Wish they had the Deluxe X on sale since I would really like a 10# tank. Not sure how long it would last with cooking, a fire pit, and possibly heating. That said, I don't think I've used 5 green cans in a weekend. plus I have the sports basement free refillable 1# cans now. hmmm. I think I...
